Got call from (905) 855-5249. Answered on forth ring. There was a slight delay and then a lady came on asking for me and then hang up right after I said "Speaking"

picked it up after second ring, didnt say anything, met by silence.  think that it might be voice-activated.

I received a phone call from CONTACT RESOURSE SERVICES at (905) 855-5249 and spoke with a very rude and insulting individual claiming to be collecting for Citi-Financial. I have never had any contract or dealing with this company what so ever. The individual I spoke with made all kinds of ridiculous and false claims about this money I supposedly owed then claimed he would settle for an amount less than one third of what he initially claimed I owed. I asked to get it in writing so I could have evidence of the scam they were trying to pull but he refused. I stated that I wished to legally dispute the claim and that I wanted only to hear from the financial institution regarding any possible settlement and that all correspondence between CRS and myself should be by mail and that attempts to contact or harass third parties in this matter were to cease and desist. The response I got was threats and insults. I called back to speak with a manager and got even worse, more threats, insults, claims to ruin my life, harass any know work associates, and my mother. Really?............ My mother, a woman in her sixties. I was told he would not stop until he had shamed me publicly and personally and put me on the street, I tried to express my wishes for this harassment to cease and desist and was yelled at over and over repeatedly to drown out my request. What these people want, is to upset you, to elicit an emotion response or a threat that they can use against you.  What they are doing is criminal. They should be stopped.

I being receiving this call as well (905) 855-5249, it true they do insist on a illegal level, it is harrassement. And well they were order to stop, and did not, they dont even respect the customer language am french i do my buniness in french and whit them no exeption. Now i even leave my fax machine on just to hassle them.

I agree and the downside? The government willingly sells them THEIR debts as well. So the one thing you CAN do is track down the companies that you may or may not have a debt with if it is personal and/or 2 if it becomes harassment contact your nearest CRTC representative. With undue harassment it is the only agency that can deal with their repeated harassment. I know i have consulted them already and they told me to take down dates and times in which these people call. If enough of us complain then they as a govt rep have to respond.
