i got the same letter and have saved it not knowing if it was good or not so i keep it thnking this sounded to good and then got on to see what it was about am i glad i did after seeing who many people had the same letter as i did im glad i checked it out first thanks that i read about it first i was going to call but after reading all of those letters from everyone else i dont need to call at all

I received this letter with Check of $4995, I checked and google, it is really scam. How can we report to stop this scam.

Beware of this scam.Received a letter in the U.S. Mail from Gold Star Securites Inc., International Claims Department 300 2nd St. Midland, Ontario stating I had won $250,000. To claim the winnings, the letter said I should deposit the enclosed check for $4,995, call Kelly Anderson at (905) 783-1975 immediately afterward and send $2,995 by Western Union or Moneygram to pay taxes and claim the rest of the winnings. Mary Brown was listed as the Production Manager. The Check is issued from Keybank, 1 Canal Plz, 7th Floor, Portland, ME 04112. The check number is 69240; routing number is 011200608; account number is 0000032424.If you Google the Address on the check of Gold Star Securities Inc...... 14 Baxter Boulevard, Portland, ME 04101.....you will find this to be the address of the Portland Housing Authority. Use the Street View hyperlink to view the sign on the corner of Forest and Baxter.....

I received the $4998.oo check in the mail today along with a letter from "SWISS FINANCIAL SECURITIES, INC."

The check was drawn on Enterprise Bank in Clayton, MO., so I called the bank: (314) 725-5500.

A nice lady named Elizabeth told me that the check was a fraud, and that I needed to call my States Attorney to report it.

I ended up calling: +1 800-372-8347 and speeking with a branch of the United States Fraudulent Mail Dept. (do not choose any of the options, just hang on the line until a person answers).  He told me that they will take a report when you receive 2 fraudulent mailings from the same company.

So, if anyone has received more than one of these mailings...they should call and get a report made :)
