Allright people here's how it is. They have changed their method a bit... now they are using a dialer that seems to transfer the call to an agent. When you receive a call from some system just hang up. Those dialer are going to call for at least 30 days at random hours. I haven't got the pleasure to speak with one of them yet because I know the trick and hangup straight up. Now here's how this collection agency works (which is very similar to any other agencies) I know I worked for one at some point in my life but I am not a rude person and I wasn't agreeing with their methods so I quit. This agency purchase a debt from whichever company you owe money to and they will attempt to recover the debt with ridiculous profits. Let's say you owed the debtor 100 dollars, they'll first ask for 130 and it will go up 10% every week. The other thing is that they refused money transfer, and other method of payment. They want you to use Western Union, which obligate you to pay an additional 50 dollars no matter if their office is in your area (like even next door to you).Just know that the people they are hiring are far from being professional... they are students, or under educated person that could only find that type of job or some are even on welfare and work there under the table. The new trend is that the address of their business has only one office and the agent are calling from their home from a VOIP (voice over Internet) phone system that has much more options than a traditional phone line for lower cost. They do not have a super job or a super pay and they are not there to listen to your problems. For the most they are frustrated individual that get a job that give them the opportunity to yell at anyone for no reasons. If they are getting you mad by calling you idiots or anything it's all in their tactics. By making you mad, you'll provide the information they need and will use it against you. Now here's how it goes... if the company you owed money to, has sold the debt to a collecting agency, it is obvious that they have been paid already and your debt as been transferred to a third party. If you know the name of the company that sent you to collection, just verify their Privacy act as often this is straight up a breach of their confidentiality act. Collecting agencies are considered third party and if they're saying that they are not selling your personal info to third party, by giving your phone number and account number and name; well they just did. That is step number one.Step number two if the person from the agency is not polite or professional you are in no obligation to take this abuse and just so you know they are not that much liked by credit bureau. To report you to credit bureau they need a premium account, which is a quite expensive deal and trust me they don't like to pay it. I went in court once with a collecting agency, and you know what I won. My plaid was that I owe money to this company and if this company wants their money back I'll deal only with the said company... the fact that they sold my debt to another company which is not connected legally whatsoever with their activities relieve me from paying. Also I have mentioned how harassing the agency was and that I would be complaining about them and ask compensation for libeling. And the judge just agreed.Want to know what to do... just don't take them seriously... their "so-called law department" is filled with para-legal who has no idea about the law they are using scare tactics and if they feel they succeed scaring you up they'll continue. When they call you up and ask for your name... or for any name and you were not expecting a stranger to call... just politely ask who's calling and from which company... than if they want to verify your name give it but do not go further... if you have a middle name use it instead. Reduce the information you're giving them and yes they will Google your name. But if you provide a middle name that you're not using they'll be confused and try to confirm that they are speaking with the right John Smith :).Be proactive, be on your guard and make fun of them. I would explode in laughter when they try to insult me (that dumb a** has no idea who you are and they're trying to reach your short fuse) and I'd just keep repeating what they're saying... and no matter how nice they can be they'll have someone else less nice calling you just to make things go faster. In short stop dealing with them... they have no compassion for you and you are just throwing you cash away.

Second time I've had a call from (905) 671-4151. I did not answer it this time, as there have recently been a number of scam phone calls hitting our area from this number (and others).I googled the number and called the collection agency it appeared to be attached to (MJR Collection Services). When I contacted them directly, the agency told me they had no business with me, or with anyone attached to my phone number and, if they did, they would send a letter if they were unable to reach me by phone.
Bill-payer
Remeber, these collection agencies are NOT allowed to call more than 3 times in a 7 day period (or some such timeframe)

Got my first call from them today (blocked number) and the first thing they were asking me was my DOB. Are they for serious?
After I refused to to provide her with my DOB. she ended the call with "I'll call you when you're in a better mood"
Needless to sat that I will never be in the mood to start providing random people on the phone with my private information.
I guess it's time for me to change my number and shrink the circle of people who will get my new number.
