pissed off

I got a call from a guy whoe seemed to be from india and called a number, that my credit card company does not have. He then called me on another number and I decided to take this guy on a ride. He told me I have received travel packages with the points earned on my card. Told me about 5 destinations. he then wanted to confirm my Date of Birth and Expiration date on my visa card. Which I gave. He then transferred me to his supervisor Bryan (E# 402). He said in order to confirm my bookings, I would need to give him the last 3 digits on the back of my card. Which I did, he then said to make this a legal confirmation, I would need to give him my 16 digit number on my card. Okay, this is where I stopped him. And sd if he called from my visa card company, he would need to already know that. Bryan sd that since it is a legal confirmation, I would need to repeat it.  this is where I decided to stop the game. I work for a credit card company, there is not just one visa card company. VISA IS A BRAND, the cards are managed by other companies, like banks and departments stores. I told him that I was going to tell him before I hung up. The information that i provided was a COMPLETE BU***HIT.

MY SUGGESTION TO EVERYONE, WHO CAN SPARE A MINUTE, TAKE THEM ON A RIDE AND THEN HAVE THEIR CALL HANDLE GO UP. GIVE THEM THE IDEA THAT THEY ARE GOING TO WIN, BUT THEN SINK THEM.

Waiting to see

Same scenario, spanish or east indian accent, called as an unpublished TN around 1245 Monday May 17.  Launched into a survey about if we recycle, do we have an issue with air pollution, is it smarter to buy with a credit card or not using a credit card, rent or own etc.  I asked them to repeat every question, but they would always deliver them as quickly as they could.  Also offered a possible prize if I verified my TN.  I didn't do that.  Definitely something shady, I have my Telco tracking my TN for any unauthorized service change requests, and will certainly be keeping an eye my accounts for the next few weeks.  I thought it was my mom, or they would have gotten the screening treatment for sure.

So, other than the CRTC, are there any private companies/people out there that will / can look into these type of companies to find out what they're up to before they scam a bunch of people on a large scale?

OMG  I did not know that this number has made disturbance in so many lives. I receive calls from (780) 702-7489.  When I got to know the number from Alberta, there was an immense pleasure on my face, Hur hurrrrry I got the job because I had taken tests for a position over there.lolzzzzzzzzzzz Upon picking the phone i received no answer. when I try to call them back the phone was busy for long time. Then I came over here and came to know that this number really teases people just for nothing. I request all of you to take some remedial steps (I prefer one that each of us should contact our MPs for the concern) because as there frequent calling teases us we should do the same in response to avoid such kind of things with other Canadians. Regards Ahmad

Annoyed

Called here 4 times about computer problem.  Wanted us to turn on 'puter and right click on "My computer"  We did not.  Told him not to call back. He did - 4 more times. Then he got rude, offering to "lick your wife's ****** "   We hung up again.  He then called back one more time.  We did not answer.  We had been warned that someone with an East Indian accent might be calling!  They reported their call to our local phone company who said they had many many complaints.

I received a phone call from this (780) 702-7489 and there is nobody there.  Is this a scammer number?  I also receive lots of unavailable numbers with nobody responding, I wait and then theyfinally hang up.

We got called couple of days ago by a company calling itself Live PC solutions, and trying to tell us that they were affiliated to Microsoft and that our computer was going to crash because of all the error messages that they had detected (yeah right!) so anyway my wife answered the call and told them I was out.  persistant litlle B****rs called back a couple more times until tthey eventually got me and I called their bluff  by keeping them asking lots of questions until eventually threy gave up saying they'd call back.  So I googled the company and this is a SCAM - pretty much world wide by the looks of it. As I suspected they have been scaring unwitting people and getting them to start-up their computer and undertake some form of access - I belive in some cases they may have taken remote control, oh and of course they get you to pay by credit card the voice(s) were East Asian, I would think, and they claimed to be located in Toronto (where it would have been 1230 am BTW); web search revals that they have used various other locations such as Brooklyn and UK.
