yeah, like how do i get them to stop calling? everytime i pick up no answer, everytine i try to call theres always a voice message saying you have called CBV office, dont know who that is... need some advice this is getting serious its happening for about a month now.

PER: infoguyDATE: 10 May 2012Just so everyone knows, & this will-p****off the collection agents: by Federal Law, a collection agency has the power to "Ask You to pay your bill and offer assistance in setting up a payment schedule" That is all. 1) they are never allowed to call you at your place of employment for any reason.2) they can not, under any circumstances, harrass you into payment, by phone, mail or in person & they may not threaten you or your credit standing in any way.3) You do not have to deal with a collection agency at any time. You are only obligated to deal with the original creditor, even if the agency has bought the account from them. You do not have to deal with them. 4) a collection agency can not put negative information on your credit file.5) so in short... all they can do is "nicely" ask you to pay your bill. But we all know that they generally go way beyond that.If you are having a problem with an agency, call the consumer bureau and report them and if it is a serious harassment issue, or call at your place of employment, contact the police and file charges. These are federal laws that they must follow, but most offen do not and will push it to the limit. Yes, several collectors have been fired and / or charged under these laws. Some even jailed. Their employers usually get a fine & tell the authorities they never asked the employee to do that, thus leaving the employee on their own to take the blame. True sharks in every way.If you are having financial issues, & most people do at one point or another in their lives, call a credit counselling service in your area. They are a free service in every province and will assist you. Do not deal with collectors on your own. If you can not afford to pay, the service will understand & work with you, without any judgement toward you, and no credit bruising. The calls stop immediately.

F*** off. If one does not answers its cause they don't want to talk to you ignorant b*****ds. Who says that a person must answer their phone? Guess what folks you control who you talk to not the other way around. Just cause your phone rings does not mean you are under any law or compulsion to answer it. If they want to talk to you, and you don't want to talk to them, that is their problem, not yours. You have the power, you have the control.

This is the collection agency for BC health. BC health has a terrible business ethic. They racked up 7000 on my tab. I do not live in BC and have health care in my ome province. I lived in BC for years and notified them when I left. Thats the problem. BC health cannot seem to get it when you tell them you are leaving, tell them you left. This went on for years I a thought they finally got it. THen I got a bill for $7000 for the years I've been away. Finally got thru to someone at BC heath who actually looked it all up including my proof of health care in another province. They then decided I owe $2000 instead. This is BS too. BC Heath has their heads up their a** and this collection agency is even worse. Call everyday and a c omputer asks me to hold while they find someone to talk to me. Occasioanly a real person kicks in and they are terrible debt collectors. Same line every time "why dont you just make a payment and then work it out with BC Heath?". You see once you make a payment you legally accept the debt. They know this. I am suing BC Health right now. We'll see how that turns out in about 2-3 years.What amazes me is how terrible BC heatlh is at their jobs. Then just how terrible this collection agency is. They cant even phone properly. 99% of their calls are a computer who either says nothng or asks me to hold for "a business matter". No effort - no skill. Just nonsense. These people are a joke and the BC government is a hughe joke for having such messed up accounts. Who is minding the store? The East Indian mafia that really runs the province?

15-20 calls a day starting as early as 7am and calls into the evening..at times calling every half hour..hey CBV can you spell HARASSMENT?????

These pieces of s*** need a punch in the face. They have been calling me all day every day for over a year now. I have had days where the call count is up to 21 in a day. They start at 8am and call until about 9pm. When I did answer and talk to someone (Yes, it is cbv collections), they wanted me to verify information for 6 YEARS ago to be able to access whatever they are calling me about. Literally, she told me that she could not tell me what they were calling about or give me access to the information without verifying an address I lived at for less than a year SIX YEARS AGO. I google mapped the address of the building but can not remember my apt # so she wouldnt tell me anything. With this, they STILL call me 20x a day. If this is a legit government thing, how do they not have my up to date information?? I do my taxes on time every year. At the same time, I told them they'd best be taking my GST cheques because I am obviously not paying a debt I cant get access to!! But again, its been a year and Im still getting my cheques so now I dont even believe this is a legit company and I will not be paying them a penny. Stupid dumbasses, leave me alone, this HAS to be harassment at this point.
