Concerned Citizen

I received a voice mail message on June 17, 2009, saying that I was was benificary to an inheritance and that I should call back and ask for Diane Black.  Sounds suspicious to me.

Suspicious Girl

I got a voicemail at my place of business, they were asking for my uncle who has the same last name as me stating that they are trying to reach him because he is a beneficiary to an inheritance or something.  They left this (647) 340-3716 number and told him to ask for Diane Black.  The problem is, my uncle died about 20 years ago, secondly, how would they know to call me AT WORK?  My uncle and I have the same last name, but he has never lived in Canada.  When I called them back, all I got was an answering machine for a company named Sleek Express and I had to leave a message.  Has anyone had a similar call? Is it legit or a scam?

I also received a call from Diane Black from this number, it turns she out she has also in the past contacted my father, and my sister.  They are a company that goes around looking for relatives of a deceased individual (in this case my uncle) to let them know that this deceased relative had a sum of unclaimed money.  In this case, my Uncle had opened a bank account and had a balance of about $4,500.00 in the account.  He never lived in Canada, but did stay here for about 8 months at one time.  Basically what they want to do is "help" you claim the money as a relative, however, they will charge you a large fee to do so.  They will not give you the name of the bank etc... where the amount is unless you pay them of course.  My Father says, that it wasn't worth claiming the money for the what they were charging.  Hope this helps everyone!
