I got tw0 text messages saying the same thing from same number. But smelled a scam immediately

it's christmas week and i've gotten 3 separate text messages from this stupid number (647) 267-1257 .. one time at 3 15 am christmas night i got a text from this number and it read " I'm dying 4 U "the very first text read " I wanting U now " and the second one I received" I waiting 4 U now "i have a good friend who works with the rcmp and he's ask a colleague from fraud division to look into it ...they are still investigating ... but first feedback is ...they believe its a text computer software scam ...where the software randomly prey upon existing cell phone users and your info ... with messages like these ...people naturally panic and return a text or even call the number ...((AS I DID LAST WEEK FROM A PAYPHONE AND GOT MESSAGE SAYING MARKETING 103 )) and little do they know there account is being charged for the reply ...and hope you are NOT paying close attention too your bill and pay ... i have telus and they have a program where if you are to report it they will remove the fee at no questions asked ...all major cell phones companies this should be mandatory in my eyes ... his colleague went as far as saying they are finding some evidence too suggest that these cell phone companies are behind these scams ...in hopes of generating more profits .... these white collar crimes should be treated in our courts just like murder crimes ...life and throw away the key !
