After reading these comments and finding out the culprit was TD Canada Trust, since I also have an account with them, I called them on their EasyLine number 1-+1 866-222-3456. (After listening to all the recorded options, you can eventually reach a live person.) The person I spoke to was genuinely polite, and after checking that it was indeed one of their numbers, he asked me if I'd rather be notified by regular mail, or not at all, about their various promotions.  I told him regular mail would be fine and he said he'd make that change immediately but that it might take several weeks to take effect. Come to think of it, several weeks seems too long but it didn't occur to me while we were talking.I also told him about this site and that people, including me, were annoyed at being called several times a day.  He was surprised at the frequency and apologized but of course there was nothing he could do.

So, when I call the number they say that the call was "not of an urgent nature".  Um... if it's not urgent WHAT's WITH THE CALL FREQUENCY?!  Check this out... Second call from this number - both for Amanda, who doesn't have this number.  As the calls come through on my cell phone, I am irritated that I am being charged.  Good to know who the caller is.  I have asked to be removed, so will see what happens
