(519) 222-1122 has been calling my small business routinely and repeatedly, and there are many others too.  We no longer answer long distance calls, ie. area codes other than 204, or "blocked" or "unknown" callers.  Our clients are local and legitimate - no need to block their own numbers.  Any legitimate business wanting ours to be their client will not be calling endlessly.  There are three companies, allegedly calling from Quebec, that have actually mailed out invoices for what they call "online profile enhancement" to the tune of over $500. each.  I have forwarded all possible information and copies of the invoices to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Call Centre.  Obviously they are getting enough out of some folks to warrant continuing their scam.  Also I think the attempted fraud scams is so prolific through phone and online that the authorities have little chance to keep up.  Final point:  some of the phone scammers record the conversation ("for quality assurance purposes",  ya right) and then use DVM software to rework the recording to suite the scam - they almost had me fooled, once.  When being recorded, only say "NO"!

"Received a phone call from this number, and they said that they were from the "Do Not Call" listing service, saying I was not registered.  I am listed, so told them goodbye.  The person I spoke to identified himself as "Max Brown"-rather a strange name for a foreign sounding person-India or Phillipines".The same thing happened with me. The call came in, it was a cell phone call; a government agency will not call you from a cell phone. The name or initials of the agency will always be displayed on the Caller ID.I voice with a strong accent started talking ... I almost told the guy that he needed to take some English classes instead of trying to work as a telemarketer. Once I was able to figure out what he was trying to tell me, I asked him for his name; he said that it was Lloyd Nazareth ... it must be from the Nazareths of New Delhi, Calcutta, or Bombay. I decided to play games with him, posing as an unsuspecting good samaritan, I asked a lot of questions and made him try to reply to my questions. He was starting to become angry as I asked questions, as if he was getting nervous. After he told me the reason for the call I confirmed that it is a SCAM. I told him that my name and telephone number are already on the Do Not Call List, and I am going to have the cell phone number investigated and located because the call is in VIOLATION of the TCPA (Telephone Consumers Protection Act). He hung up in a HURRY!Whenever these guys call you from an unidentified telephone number, more than likely it is going to be a "disposable" cellular telephone number (like from Virgin Mobile, or Metro PCS). A strong foreign accent will be another BIG RED FLAG. These A... HOLES are either in another country where they are likely to be able to get away with their scams, or calling using disposable cell phones that are almost impossible to trace due to the number of times that the number has been assigned to other people. If you tell them that the phone number that they are calling from is being traced because their telephone call is in violation of the TCPA (Telephone Consumers' Protection Act), they are going to hang up quickly, not call you again, and put you in THEIR Do Not Call list.

These sweethearts have been calling me several times a day for the last three days.  When I pick up, they don't respond.

This caller has an Indian accent and states he is calling from the Federal Communication Committee (FCC). He wanted to know if I wanted to be put on the government's Do Not Call List. I thought this was wierd so I said no. I'll just do it online myself.
