Hate scammers

"Adam" called me, and I patiently went through everything with him until we got to the fastheal.net site (with a Google search in the background for fastheal.net, hence coming to this site). Wanted to see how far it would go (I've had calls like this before). When he told me to click on "Connect to Technician 3", I said, "No way. Are you trying to sell me something?" He kept insisting he was with Microsoft and just wanted me to be aware that hackers were trying to get into my computer. Told him I'd get "my husband" to make sure the computer was fine this evening. Adam seemed annoyed, but didn't push further, and I wished him good day.Key phrases he uses/things to look out for on calls like this:> "Check your error and warning messages." Then he expresses surprise that I have warning messages, and asks how old my computer is.> "Do you use this computer for banking? Hackers are trying to get your banking information."> "Do you get notices of any links?" (I asked, "What links are you talking about? Be specific. No, I don't click on random links".)> Strong accent (Indian?), hard to understand.> Starts off saying he's with Microsoft, and insists (initially) that he's not selling anything, and just here to help.

Got a call from a " private caller" who spoke with a very heavy Indian accent. Insisted I had a virus. I advise you all call the Federal Trade Commission at +1 877-382-4357 to log a complaint for this and any other scams. It's one of the few things we can do with these scammers that is useful.

Got a call from a lady said they at Microsoft were getting numerous notices that my computer was having problems. She said she could transfer me to a technician who could correct the problems.I knew the computer was infected and was working poorly. I agreed to the transfer. Then talked to a male person with a heavy accent. Had to ask him numerous time to repeat the questions he was asking. He was able to get control of my computer. He indicated the computer was heavily infected. Then he switched me over to another male person also with a heavy accent. He then made the same remarks about how heavily infected. Told me it would take about a hour and a half to fix. No amount was advised as the charge at this time. Then later when he finished he wanted $199.99 to complete the work. I gave him 2 credit cards which both got rejected. Had to approve the third card. This took about 30 minutes. All seemed well. Then I get a call from a male person with an accent but was somewhat clearer. He said he was a supervisor and the payment did not go through. He wanted me to use Western Union to pay for the work they had done. I refused to do that. I told him I had gone to length to get the credit card company to pay and I was not going to pay him twice for the work. He was demanding so I hung up on him. Then called credit card co. and was told I could not stop payment. I contacted Norton the next day and a technician took over my computer and showed me there must be over 20,000 hacks on my computer. This told me nothing had been done or the work done before had been taken off. The technician took another 2 hour to make the correction at no cost to me. Now I am fighting with my card company to recover the $199.99 charge. Card company wants paper work and a letter from Norton verifing the work they did. Since all this was done over phone and internet there is no paper work. Norton does not want to send any letter to them. Norton did suggest they would answer any questions to verify their work. All total this scam has taken 2 day out of my life to resolve. I hope this will save some others from this SCAM. Also, Microsoft needs to be notified of how their name is being used in this scam.

I received a call from them and the guy said he is from the Windows, and that my computer was sending malicious things. I told him that I am not going to buy anything. He said We are not selling anything. Then they started working on my PC (remote) and told me PC is being used by the hackers. In the end he told me to buy their support for a number of ranges ($ 131+ to $400+). I told him that I shall verify and give him a call.He gave his ID and phone number (416) 915-3536.
