got this number tonight on my cell, didn't answer it.  can someone tell me how to stop this number.thanks

Just got it, its bogus.

I live in 778 code area [Southern BC, Canada].  What is your area? Are these computer generated calls?416 is Toronto area.  Wiki gives info about area codes & first 3 digitshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_codes_416_and_647.   Really annoying to get this LD call as it would have been a charge call on my cell phone if I had answered.I noticed there are 19 pages of complaints here -back to July, 2010.

they called me while I was writing an exam.weird !

After researching it looks like a definite scam, said I won 100,000 aeroplan miles, press one to accept.  I hung up.

For those of you who have unlisted numbers as I have. Think how the scam people get these numbers. Are your service providers selling these unlisted number lists?? It is time for strike action. (Shut down your cell phone for 24/48 hours every time you receive a unwanted call from these criminal/pranksters etc. ) When a service provider loses enough business they will take action to block calls and ensure that these people are not getting your numbers. Or pick a day like every monday and shut down your phones for 24 hours. If enough people do it together the service provider will start to pay attention. Strike Action!!
