These are very interesting posts...I got a phone call the other night asking if I would take "a short survey"...with questions about whether I recycled, did I think the air quality was good in my town, did I have asthma.  I asked who she was doing the survey for, the answer was unintelligable.  I then told her that the minute was up.  She then wanted to know my name, which I didn't give.  A few nights later I got a phone call, the display said A A S.  I didn't answer it.  Decided to google the number and this is where I got.  I'm glad for the heads up.A lot of years ago, a similar thing happened.  Got a phone call "out of the blue" one morning saying I won a prize and they would come by soon.  A salesman came to the door, with a sales pitch about a revolutionary air system -- a vaccuum cleaner -- was $1400.  The "prize" were coupons for renting a rug shampooer at a "reduced" cost.  What a joke!So you can see...this tactic has been around and around and around.  Don't answer and don't fall prey to them.

Last week I got a call to do a brief survey on the phone which was fine because I do survey?s online and for grocery stores. They told me I was entered into a draw and may get a call if I win. I didn?t really pay attention much because it?s rare I win anything. Today I got a call from the ?Advanced Air Supply? company (250) 380-0029 telling me a won the first draw. She told me I had a choice of either the food chopper that?s been seen on TV or a Travel voucher. I said I don?t travel because I?m disabled. She told me it was transferable so I said okay, I?ll take the travel voucher. I have folks from the states coming to visit for a few days in the summer. Anyway, then she dropped the bomb by saying that the ?free gift? would have to be delivered and a demonstration of the air purifier would have to be done in our house. That?s when I said NO. I don?t want anybody in my house. She hounded me asking me why and every answer I gave her she kept pushing and pushing. She kept saying that they would be by at 6:30pm this evening. I said NO?keep your gift and don?t come to my home or call again. I said NO 5 times but she just wouldn?t listen. After I got off the phone I looked the number up and the first thing that came up was the Better Business Bureau so I read the rating and report on this company. This company has been rated with an F and there is a government action involving this business. They have tons of complaints against them?WOW! Unbelievable!

I missed two calls from this number today, within 2 hours. No voicemail. Is it still the same type of sales pitch as before?
