Either duped or surprised.

I have been 'roped' into one of these schemes. ?The internet screams scam, my husband screams scam...but there is something legit about it all.  I have thought about calling my bank and having the charges reversed, only I think it's a real deal and I'm willing to ride it out.  Tell me more about your experiences.  :)

Timeshare Mooch.

Lol, you guys are pretty stupid.

This is not a SCAM dorks, its just a company booking really cheap vacations so people can go to Mexico and attend a 90 minute presentation of the resort. Resorts pay up to $1000 dollars in the streets of Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, etc just to get people to go to their sales presentation at the resort.

So what they do here is they offer call centers this really cheap package deals to get american and canadians to come to mexico and attend a presentation this way they save the $1000 dlls in marketing and have the people staying at their resorts before the presentation, this way it an easier sale.

Definitely not a SCAM, it's just marketing... Sure you probably didn't really won a FREE package, but at $700 dlls for 2 trips, its really worth it, if you want to give them  90 minutes of your vacation to tour their place.

And yes they are calling from Cancun, but you get a number from the US because they use a VOIP service (thats calling using the internet) because this way they get better telephone rates to call international, and most VOIP providers offer US numbers.

If you want really cheap vacations to Mexico, this is the way to go. Why pay more if you can take advantage of the resorts marketing budget??   But then again you do have to give them your 90 minutes for the presentation.

Thats why they need to know if you are over 25 and have a credit card, because this are the resort's qualifications for a prospect, if you are not then the resort wont let them sell the package so cheap.

I have been traveling like this for at least 5 years now... Be sure to bargain, they always can get the price down if you just ask!

Cheers!

This number appeared on my fido on  the west coast and appears to be a Winnipeg landline...not assigned?I did not answer and wonder how the caller has 'access to my private cell number' from a phone that is not in service. Thats some trick. Makes you wonder what other tricks they have in store for the public?  Another loss of privacy issue   Another question for the one storing my info
