    I wouldn't trust Morrison or Murray so disorganized. Both guys can't get it to together. Murray has the worst nasty attitude and don't even have a reference number. Asked for a bill and they didn't email or fax the record. Two I am still getting emails from these jokers after I have dealt with them. Long story short not a trusted company

    I had to deal with these low life's. They bought my debt from MBNA tried to settle with them they wouldn't budge. They started to harass me like crazy even called my wife at work which they cant. Anyway long story short I had enough of them so I retained a lawyer to negotiate for me. Once he contacted them they backed off right away and where nothing but nice to me when before I had a lawyer they where a**holes. I owed $16,000 and my lawyer negotiated it down to $5000. I paid that. However I must admit that I should have just paid my debt in the first place, I have learned my lesson. However theses guys try to bully and intimidate people in paying for a debt they bought for pennies. They try to make you believe that you are actually paying you debt off to the org creditor but your not. They threaten lawsuits and garnishments when in fact they never follow through. If you don't have the money don't pay. Don't let them intimidate you, they wont do anything they prey on people who cant afford to pay their bills, then they try everything in their power to scare you. At this point your credit is already bad so don't pay them, it has already been written off by the original owner like MBNA or Capital One. Just learn from your mistakes and pay your bills on time in the future, take responsibility and move on. Just don't let these guys get to you. Ignore them, they will go away.

    I have been getting automated calls from this company for months, daily. Today, I got a letter saying that they were going to sue me. I got no notice that they bought any debts of mine, and I have had no new debts for about 7 years now. I am on Ont. Disability. Don't have any assets. No house or car to seize.
    When do these stupid people stop bugging people on welfare?

    There is also an employee there by the name of Claudia Cortell you know her by her crooked teeth and wide set eyes. She is one of the ugliest women I have seen. she is definitely single and has no friends I feel sorry for people who work in this field as they must live sad and lonely lives.

    Yes, that Pauline called me threatening to my employer to garnish all my income. PAULINE being shouting on the phone saying derogatory words. I was so depressed and could not understand why in this world has people like her. Anyways, God bless her soul.., more than 100% she will go to hell!!

    Wow! What an awful job it must be to be a collector. Imagine getting up everyday, going to work to make money to pay your bills and your job is to yell, berate and be condescending to people. I can imagine that after awhile, you would just become an a**hole to everyone. I had the most unpleasant experience with Patrick Johnson who is about as nice as sand paper on my lily white ass. Funny thing is I have enough to pay the reduced amount he offered but won't have the money in hand for a few days. Well, that's not good enough. Ok how about zero then a**hole. I'll take the money I was going to use to pay my account and invest it. In the meantime, go ahead and sue me. Ill pay you $20 a month forever and since I'm unemployed and know the law, I know the court will accept this. Arm yourself with information people, become aware of your rights and don't be bullied by the bottom feeders called collectors. People default out of misfortune not because they want to and the courts are on our side. Your credit is ruined anyway so let them sue you and when they do, counter sue. And yes, whenever they call - tell them you're not interested in buying anything then hang up. Scum of the earth.

    I agree wholeheartedly that a class would be appropriate, check your provincial laws. In Quebec we are allowed - and there is jurisprudence and many cases won - to sue collection agencies (some go to small claims court)

    I would defiantly like to be involved in a class action suit with this company. My wife received numerous calls where vmail was left by Sean Morrison in a one day period while at the same time I would get telephone calls with no messages left, and then finally Morrison left a threatening message on my cell phone. I immediately contacted Morrison who spoke to in a condescending tone demanding that he receive the total sum of $16,303 from me in a 25 hour period or the matter would be passed onto the courts. I advised Morrison that I had not received any documentation and requested for on to be sent which was refused. I complied fully with Morrison by confirming my contact information and even giving my email address to him. I stated that I would make payment arrangements with him which he refused offering me a onetime offer for a total of $12,500 if I used a Broke which he had suggested, surly a friend, and the payment could be held off until Monday.
    The next day Morrison once again telephoned my wife and with no satisfaction telephoned my place of employment with no just cause.
    I have emailed CCL a complaint letter stating what has been done prior to filing a complaint with the Government of Ontario.
    Something has to be done with this company.

    I'm looking to put together a class action law suit against Preferred Credit Resources LTD. After reading countless complaints about them, it's time to do something about it.

    I took a settlement offer back in 2009. I went to make a car purchase and I was flagged having an active collection notice on my credit report. This was supposed to be closed 6 years ago. I'm stuck paying $10k more than I should have for a car due to higher interest rates. PCR ltd sold my PAID debt to another debt buyer to collect more than I owed. They violated the FDCPA by calling my work. They are guilty of falsely reporting incorrect information to credit bureaus. They sold debt that was settled and worst of all, attempting to collect interest from principal obligation after settlement.

    I currently have a civil law suit pending and the best consumer protection attorney I could find.

    Once the civil suit is settled, I am going to file a federal class action lawsuit for criminal negligence. I need the support of all of you who've been affected by these crooks.

    Got a call from these clowns today. The guy was rude as hell. Apparently, someone used to be at the phone number I have that they were looking for.
    I called them back and gave them heck.
    What I know about these clowns is that the agents only get paid if you pay up. So, dick around with them as much as you can and waste their time. if they hang up, call them back. keep telling them you don't want to buy anything when they call you.
    There are so many complaints about this company all over the net that there's no way in hell they'll ever be able to do anything to you other than mess up your credit score... which is already messed if they're calling you anyway.

    thats funny. that letter wouldnt stand within civil court. and in the long run its your credit your destroying. in other words people who borrow money and dont pay it back are theives. you dont like collection calls? picture if someone borrowed 10k from you and then they just decided not to pay it back....what do you do then? call every day? "harrass" them? or try to come to an agreement to get your funds back. thats what collection agencies are trying to accomplish. so picture if the situation was flipped. i know your going to come back with your "smarts" but bottom line if you sign a cardholders agreement your liable. stop trying to find ways to beat the system. you crook

    I worked for this company for many years. I feel it's important for you all to understand that management put so much pressure on their employees to collect or get fired. They are taken into a room every month and berated if they don't meet their targets. They work 10 hour shifts and still expected to work weekends. They expect you to live, eat and breath CCL. They break a lot of labor laws, not just collection laws. There is a very high turn over there. I'm a very polite, professional employee. I always treated the people I called with respect. But I found that they too could be rude and abusive. Imagine what your day would be like working for this company. Why did I stay so long? As a single mom I had to pay my own bills and was unable to look for something else due to the long hours I had to put in working for them. They finally pushed me to the point where I was so burned out I had to quit without notice. This company is all about greed. They don't care about your situation or about the people that work for them. Bottom line I would never work for another collection company again. It's too stressful. As far as paying your debt, bottom line is it's not your money. You have an obligation to pay it back. If there were no consequences for not paying your debt I don't think anyone would pay their loans. I know I wouldn't.

    Contrary to what "Debtor" advises, DO NOT CALL them back if you are the debtor.  Communicate solely through written form, registered letters, fax, etc., and tell them not to contact you any other way but via Canada Post.  Formally dispute the debt and ask for back up information because oftentimes they do NOT give adequate information as to who the original creditor was. Arrogant people like Debtor aren't used to thinking outside of their small minds to know that many people who find themselves on the receiving end of these vultures are there because they've lost their jobs, have become ill, or have suffered other serious personal losses that were unforeseen. They've lost the ability to service all of their debt as a result of serious financial setback that is often not of their own fault.  There is absolutely no truth in the myth these small-minders like to spew that all people being harrassed by collection agencies are there because THEY'VE been irresponsible with their money.  I am being harrassed by these people looking for someone with my same surname and despite telling them (yes, I DID call back) on 3 occasions to cease calling my house 3 times a day looking for someone I don't know and am not related to, yet I still am getting calls!  If they harrass you, people, inform them in writing via registered mail of your wish for them to cease contacting you by phone and let them know that if they do not do so, you will initiate a complaint with the Ontario provincial government. It's the ONLY way to deal with these scurges - do NOT speak to them.
