Someone named 'Joe Myers' just called from (902) 482-1441 claiming to be calling from the "Nova Scotia Police" about a "community project." Since there is no provincial police force in NS, I hung up on him.

Yeah I got the same call from a "Mike Saunders" about "community issues" for my boyfriend. Definitely a scam.

This caller never leaves a message but when you call back you get a recording such as this:

We can't take your call right now Please leave your name and number etc..
It doesn't state the company name.  There is other numbers that this message comes from 1-(514) 288-0420

Called with no response

This number is the Police Association of Nova Scotia looking for donations and giving information on upcoming "community" events (not related in any way to any actual police force).  I find it very strange that any legitimate association would not have a more official looking caller ID.  In short, don't be afraid of this number being an outright scam, but also don't be afraid of not answering the phone when this number calls.
