(519) 570-9131 called Sunday morning around 8am. I just hang up as they sounded suspicious.

My phone rang about 6 times this evening from (519) 570-9131 (and also a similar call from (519) 570-4223).  It says "Unknown" and lists the number and when I don't pick it up, it leaves a blank message every time.  I have also answered the phone 2 times in the past month from this number and there was no one answering me when I said Hello.  I don't hear any fax noises at all, like some of the other comments here.

I did some work last year that involved the CRTC's Do Not Call list, and they have some pretty specific rules about telemarketers.  They can be found here: http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/trules-reglest.htm

Part III, Article 29 says: "A telemarketer using a predictive dialing device to initiate telemarketing telecommunications shall not exceed, in any calendar month, a five (5) percent abandonment rate."

If enough people register a complaint with the CRTC, I would imagine they could investigate, and take steps if the abandonment rate is too high.

Hi got a call from this # today, and the person asked for the lady of the house ... I said she wasn't here, then he said something about "the lady with big boobs" !!! I thought it was someone I knew, so I started chuckling a bit, but he kept asking ... he had an accent - hard to understand and there was noise in the background ... yeah talk about creepy!
