Have been getting this call for weeks. But the person they were asking for was not here. I finally got fed up and google the number. Glad I did. My mom has received several calls from this number asking for cc info. Thanks fo the heads up

Xentel really does collect money for programs that different Police Associations do. Usually the Police Associations are raising money to support programs that help underprivileged kids or raising money for other charities. So I'm not sure how they would fall under something considered to be a "scam". Also, they do not need Credit Card info. They can easily send you an invoice which represents whatever organization they are raising money for, and the checks are payable to that organization.

It is a shame the internet is used this way to further perpetuate slander/myths.

You can see for yourself by checking page 7 of the PAO magazine:

Just got one, they are Xentel - claiming to be collecting charity money for Canadian Police Association community program. They tried to get my credit card # in a sneaky way. When I hung up on them I got a flurry of auto-calls from another # :(416) 646-3133like 4-5 calls. they just wouldn't let it go. Very fishy. I reported them to the Canadian agency phonebusters.comYou can confirm that site via http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/scams-fraudes/tf-ft-eng.htm
