We have been receiving calls from this number lately. Quite often we would answer and no one was on the line. Yesterday, we answered and someone was there! Turned out to be the Shriners calling for donations. My wife took a message and got their 800 number for me to call them back at. I called them this morning +1 800-470-5349) and had my number added to their do not call list. We'll see if that stops the calls.

It appears that the fundraising company Shriners is using (probably Xentel) has their phone equipment set to mask their true identity with an un-used phone number. Hopefully this information helps others too.

Started calling my number 2 weeks ago and get a call every day since. My daughter answered the phone the first time no one on the line, since then we have not answered the call.

call up to 4 times a day and nobody on the line when we answer.

My mother received a misleading letter suggesting a couple in the area wanted to purchase a house and to call. Easy search on Google showed the following company as who is harassing them and others posting on this site:

It's a call centre representing a number of different charities..including the Shriners and many others. They apparently do NOT respect the do not call lists in Canada. I would suggest getting the "call blocking" service from Bell (if you have a Bell line) and blocking their numbers.
