To stop receiving phone calls you have to mail in a letter ( registered mail) to tell them to stop calling you at the home number. Every month you must do this. If they call you at work, it takes one time only for you to tell them to stop calling you at work. You can make a complaint if they should call you again. Legally, they can call you 3x a day. Can't call on Stat Holidays. Every province has a time they start from and finish at. They can't impersonate anyone, they can't speak to anyone but the debtor, they must identify themselves and where they're calling from. I used to work at NCO Financial doing collections for Telus Mobility and Rogers. In all reality guys, there is a cancellation policy regardless of whether you like it or not..its a contractual agreement and its unfortunate that no sales people tell you about that part of the contract. I don't work there anymore obviously because I found it to aggressive. I was one of the nice people that would actually work with you rather than fight with you...Read up on your collection laws in your province and find out what your rights are. (And maybe review the contract you signed as well) The CSR should do a financial statement with you to see what you can work out. Their first demand is always payment in full but did you know you can ask for a settlement amount? that would have to be paid in full. Did you know that if you send them $20.00 a month and make your postdated payments via your bank and provide them with the reference numbers, they'll stop calling. They can't refuse a payment so don't screw up and miss one lol Good luck....just a few helpful hints...

Its summer and holy, do they persist! I like to sleep in because I'm a teen and they called like every hour yesterday! I wanted to figure out who these guys were, so I picked it up today and clicked 1. They asked for my dad but I'm like, "he's not available and I'm his son, I'm talking because my parents don't have good English." They wanted to verify some information which I kind of gave in a I don't know tone lol. They asked when we came to Brampton and I said, "we moved here about 7-8 years ago," and the guy goes "oh, might not be you." Next, he asks for my postal code, and last question was my dad's birthday. This last question, I answered "err.. March 25th." He asked for the year and I'm like "1950ish..." and he's like, "sorry, this isn't the person, sorry, have a good day," and I hung up. So, that brings me here. -__-

I don't pay my own bills, I'm a student, but these people call me, 4-8 times a day, at 1st I just thought it was another scam, but they call with just proficiency that i began to grow suspicious. The other day i received a call from what I believed was them in person, asked to be speak to me (by only mentioning 1st names) and began to tell me how I was in "trouble". As it turned out they were trying to reach a completely different person, from a completely different city, but just so happens to have the same common 1st name I do, with the same f****ng area code. I told them they were calling the wrong person, I was asked to verify this, and i thought that was the end. Long story short they still keep harassing me with those f****ng calls.

These guys were calling me about an account that was real old. You can't expect me to pay for something from 5 years ago!!! I tried talking to them but they didn't seem to get it. I googled their company name "Global Credit" and found their website. I sent a request to stop bugging me. A manager called me back a couple days later and told me they were closing my account. The website is http://www.globalcollection.net
