I just received a call from this number. January 21, 2009 and I never answered it and they never left a message. But I have call display and when it came up it says Ontario as the name and then the number.

Recieved a phone call and he claimed he was from Bell and then asked me if I was still was with Bell.  Actually I did not confirm that I was the person he was asking for however I did decide to reverse it and ask him who he was.  John he replied and I asked John who?  He did not answer I said whatever let me ask you something John?  You say you are from Bell but you are asking me if I have me phone service with Bell?  He said yeah that is right. I said well gee John don't you think if somebody was calling one of their current customers claiming to be their phone company they would know if the person they were calling was one of their customers?  It seemed to complicated for him because this seemed to make no sense to him.

So I made it simple for him "So John you say you are calling from Bell and you are asking me if my phone service is with Bell?"  He said yes and I asked again does that make any sense You claim you are Bell Canada but don't know if I use Bell Canada?????????????????

Must be rocket science or something.

Have not called the CRTC but will, you can file a complaint against Allstream if it is classified as a media but hopefully they won't have to speak to John because he seems to think he is with Bell Canada.........Maybe this idiot is having identity crisis.

My husband received a call last weekend from (905) 695-5541 identifying themselves as Bell Canada.  My husband put the caller on speaker phone so I could hear it too.  They were offering us an internet package.  My husband listened to what the guy had to offer.  The man said he needed our credit card number, the name of the institution and the three didgit number on the back panel as means to identify us so they could send the package with the modem ad CD's to us.  Well as soon as I heard the credit card part I said NO WAY.  We called back the number to see if we could talk to someone but just got a very rude message.Your own bank does not know the three numbers on the back of your card.  We called Bell and asked if they were offering this promotion.  They said NO.  We then asked if they would ask for this type of information for internet service, they said NO.  They would NEVER ask a customer for the three didgits on the back of the card!!  We left this in the hands of Bell security along with the phone number 905-695-5541 from where the call originated.  Well, guess what, THEY CALLED AGAIN TODAY (22 Nov 08)!!!  Please share this with others.  Some people don't know that they shouldn't give this info to people who call them.  Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that are running scams.

Two calls - no v-maicl left.  When I returned a call - could not completed as dialed.  Call display shows "Ontario"

just got a call, I called back as he hung up on me, the voice mail says "hi i'm just some a**hole who likes to bug the F&*# outta people" ?Then you can leave a message.  nothing mentioned about bell or rogers.
