A scam company that currently goes by the name techbuddha. Go see their legitimate looking website at www.techbuddha.com. They also have bogus facebook, twitter and linked-in accounts. They called me from Canada but have scammers is a couple of other countries including the US and UK.
They get you to a website that you download an executable that you execute and let them remotely control your computer. They then copy 'scanner' software to your desktop where they execute it. The software reports many problems that they then encourage you to 'fix' buy paying them a one time only 179.99. (Don't worry, it's not expensive. You can install their 'fix' software on all of your computers!)
I wish I could choose 'commit fraud' from the call type for this number.

I have had dealings with these thieves in the past. They rang my house in Wellington New Zealand and got me when I was sick. I was scammed!!Yesterday though, 5 April 2012, they rang my parents where I happened to be visiting. (Foxton New Zealand). My Mum didn't know about them but I did so spoke to them. They reckoned they had an office in Wellington NZ. I told him to go back to India on the 1st plane and not to ring back again. They are total scammers and I have reported them to the police but dont know what they would actually do about it.There are too many of these sort of people around unfortunately. UNLESS IT IS YOUR OWN INTERNET PROVIDER, EG. TELECOM, COMPASS, SLINGSHOT ETC. IN OTHER WORDS = THE ONE YOU PAY EVERY MONTH...... DO NOT LET THEM INTO YOUR COMPUTER.....SCAMMERS!!!!

I received three of these calls in the past month. The first two times I could hardly understand what the individual was telling me so I hung up. The second time the line was cut off. In the past two days we have received a number of calls which they hung up when we answered. I got another call the afternoon and a call that he said would last 5 minutes lasted over 20 minutes and he advised me that it lasted longer because of the numerous questions I was aking. He showed me all the errors and warnings in my computer telling me that it was infected and should have lost a lot of speed and performance and was omewhat put off when I told him that I had not noticed any problems lately. He brought me to their website which does look real but when he asked me to go to their support system, that a professional would take over control of my computer, I told him I no longer had the time and was going to call him later. he got very agitated but I now have his name(if it's the right one) his company # and of course the tel. # (905) 667-5558.
Now that I know I will report it to phone busters tomorrow.
Tech Budda Scam
I got a call from this number. "Mark Goodson" with a heavy Indian accent spoke with me and fed me a load of trash about the company. Instead of snapping on the guy, I was nice to him so I could get as much info as possible from him. He directed me to techbuddha.com which I will not even visit. The number he gave was (905) 667-5558. Don't give these guys anything. I hope the authorities are on this case. It disturbs me that someone would be stunned enough to provide these people with anything other than a "No" or "leave me the bleep alone!"Good luck.

Hello Jason here from Australia. These people were calling me everyday but I kept on saying that I am not 18 and I dont have a PC and they then hang up. They called and spoke to my mother one day and she said I will just write all this down and ask my son and they hung up on her lol. So anyways I had another phone call from some Indian just today and I thought I will let him have his say and he sent me to this website aswell. I am a computer technician. I just let him think he had me lol.. They sent me into the Event Viewer on my PC and got me to look at the errors and told me that they are all worms and viruses. The guy said I will pass you to our advanced technician to help you and they didnt transfer the call.. they just passed the phone to the other guy lol. Then the "Advanced Tech" said he needs to put a stop to it from the domain.. I got up to the part where they want to remote into your PC and I said I dont need this, the guy said "its not a matter of need sir, you have to get rid of these viruses and we will help". I said well I am actually a computer technician and I know exactly what the error logs are and what you are trying to do and he shat himself and started stumbling on his words and rustled the phone around a bit and then hung up LOL.
I hope people stay alert from these scammers
