tech buhda - what a joke.

Ya I did the "be nice" thing and tried to get info like, who hired "Tech Budha" to look after my devices on the internet.  Since they try to convince you that "they want to advise you of a widespread "Windows" problem, I also asked if he was also going to call everyone on the planet running Windows LOL

Then I looked at their spiffy website, and contact info where nobody answers the phone.

This has scam all over it and its sad that some people will believe their computers are generating tens of thousands of errors.   LOL, and if it was, do ya not think Windows would let us know?

Now I in no uncertain terms just tell them to F$%& right off.

DW

I received a call from these guys and like you, i thought i would let him have his say. I feel stupid now because i let him get as far as to gain access to my computer- he was able to move my mouse and type etc. He downloaded an anti-virus program and then wanted me to pay $300 for it, which i refused. He said he would send me an applicatrion form to filll out, which i also refused and eventually hung up.
I am wondering now what i should do to pprotect my secrity- and how much access he could have gained?
I changed my bank account passwords, on another computer but do not know if this is enough?
Any information wouyld be helpful- thanks
DW

Ivan Smith

This is Ivan Smith from Sydney Australia. This techbuddha guys are based in Kolkata India as I happened to be friend a caller who called me . he gave all his contact details in India with addresses. The base company is set to be registered in Australia though. The website is all crap and they get it re-designed to fool people . This is one of the best ways to scam an indivual and take away all his personal information as credit card details and the authorization number. Please be aware of these type of scammers who rob your personal details and later use the same information to swipe your card again and again. Please check this link diversifiedtechnologiesindia.com, this is where they are calling from .

Jason MacInnis

A scam company that currently goes by the name techbuddha.  Go see their legitimate looking website at www.techbuddha.com.  They also have bogus facebook, twitter and linked-in accounts.  They called me from Canada but have scammers is a couple of other countries including the US and UK.They get you to a website that you download an executable that you execute and let them remotely control your computer.  They then copy 'scanner' software to your desktop where they execute it.  The software reports many problems that they then encourage you to 'fix' buy paying them a one time only 179.99.  (Don't worry, it's not expensive.  You can install their 'fix' software on all of your computers!)I wish I could choose 'commit fraud' from the call type for this number.
