Wish they would stop HARRASSING me!!! They are looking for s

I just want people to know that the Law office of Paul Kupferstein & Associates IS LEGIT! If you get a call from Mr. Hazel, he is a lawyer and what he is telling you is most likely truthful. My situation was that I owed The Cash Store for over a year and after a certain point The Cash Store gives it over to this law firm for them to contact the person owing. I called the Cash Store Head Office to confirm that this law office is the one they deal with and that what he is saying is true and it was all verified. They can sue you and take you to court for 5 x the amount you owe. I JUST went thru this on the weekend and paid my debt off because if I didn’t they would proceed to court. I can’t afford that so I came up with the $1279.45 to pay it. If you are reasonable and not rude to them, then they will be nice back and Mr. Hazel actually gave me advice even tho his client is The Cash Store. Don't EVER give money to anyone other than who it is you owe. If they ask you to deposit the money into a bank account, it is not right, but in my case I was asked to go directly to the Cash Store I borrowed from and pay them directly and I did. It was NOT a scam so check into it when you get a call. Phone the head office of the place where you got the loan or whatever it was you owed money to and ask them to confirm the details of what the law office has told you. Paul Kupferstein is NOT a scammer regardless of what others are saying. In my experience it was LEGIT and verified by the place I owed money to. Take it seriously and investigate what is being told to you and proceed. Proceed cautiously obviously because you don't want to turn a large amount of money over to the wrong person but if you owe the debt, it is most likely NOT A SCAM!!! I don’t know why so many people are saying it is a scam. Maybe there are people out there pretending to be the Law Office of Paul Kupferstein and trying to get you to deposit money into a their bank account, but there really is a legitimate Law office by this name and they represent many different places who are owed money like pay day loan companies. Like I said if you do owe money to a company, contact them first after you get a call from a lawyer and confirm the information is true! You don’t want to end up owing larger amounts of money and have your bank account frozen and wages garnished because that’s what will happen. I sympathize with you. I just dealt with this over the weekend and it’s stressful trying to come up with $1279 in 3 days but I luckily was able to. My e-mail is below of you want to ask me any questions. said it was a law office regarding legal proceeding to be file the following morning ( Aug 26) did not have the correct amount for the bill they are trying to collect...then said if it was not paid today it would cost upwards of $4000 through the court system.They would be willing to hold off if I thought I could borrow the money this evening to pay them. It was 7:30pm when I received the call...explained it was unlikely I could come up with the money that quickley...the woman then said they would proceed with fraud charges.

got a call from him today he said it was urgent to call back then called my work... Can we sue if he is harrassing us at work...

In all fairness, I figured I should post again because I did call them back and they were decently polite and removed me from their list promptly.  A former renter had used me for a reference, he did not say for what but my guess is that it was for a 'payday loan'.  I told him this man was basically a drifter, I saw him in town earlier this summer but he has  not rented from me for over a year.  I also told the man 'Klassen', that I had googled his phone number and there were a lot of people trashing his company on the internet.  He said they can't do anything about what people say on the internet, but that they are indeed a liscensed law firm and that I could check that with the Law Society of Upper Canada.  The fact that they go by many different names and have no website suggests to me that people calling from this number are a sketchy company, but I thought I'd write in to this forum with my experience.

I also received a call from this man.  He said he was from a law office and gave a file #.  He asked for me by my old last name that I haven't had in years.  What should I do about this.  It is obviously a scam.  There was no record on my phone as to when he called or from what #.  We all have to stand up and not take this.

Joanne, I find it strange that you would laugh at this man for calling you on a debt you owe. ?You are no better than this collector.....He is trying to bully you into paying back your debt but you took the money from a PDL and never paid it back.  Do you know why the interest on PDL's is so high?  People like you steal their money.....Be better than this collector - pay back your debt.  He never would have contacted you had you paid back what you owe.

I have read all this and nobody have said if charges were laid against anyone here or if legal papers came????????????????????
