Thanks to Everyone for your comments. I was able to convince a couple of elderly people the phone number leads to a Telemarketing water heater scam.

Call the house and then hang up when I pick up or get dead air.

why does this number keep calling me - leaving a so-called message - which is  blank.I have  had several calls from this number, and I would like to stop or at least find out who/whythey keep calling.

I confirm that they are using an illegal automatic dialing machine because they call me about 12 times in a period of 20 minutes and they do it every day.  No human would be dumb enough to do it.

It is useless to block individual phone numbers because scammers change or spoof their numbers regularly.  I have the Call Blocker 10 (see link below) which allows me to block entire area codes and my phone doesn't even ring.  You can do yourself a favour and purchase one.  You should spread the word, and then it's the end of telemarketing scammers !  :-)

A women called me from this number stating she was from Just Energy and tried to sell me "free upgrade" of my rental water heater with an Energy Star one. She offered a teaser rate for a year that will double after that. She said I could cancel the rental agreement any time after a year without penalties which a really doubt since such companies usually charge $400-500 termination fee.She made a false claim that Direct Energy uses Just Energy to provide rental equipment but they (Just Energy) recently started selling rental contracts directly to retail customers.I asked her where she got my contact info and she lied that she got it from Enbridge/Direct Energy.I called Direct Energy and they said they rent equipment directly to retail customers (billing through Enbridge) and are not affiliated with third party companies such as Just Energy. They also do not share personal information of their customers with such companies.If you get a call from this number do not share any information with them. They will lie to you to get your business and most likely you will be screwed.

This company has been calling my house several times a day for the past few days. I finally answered the phone and the man on the other end said he was calling from Just Energy.

He claimed that his company supplied the gas to my house and I told him that I was with Direct Energy. He then said that Just Energy was the gas supplier for Direct Energy and that a lot of people had the same misconception about who was their gas supplier (I became very suspicious at this point).

He told me that my gas usage last year was higher than in previous years and that Just Energy could help me save money with a free offer. He asked me how old my water heater was. I told him it was a rental. Again, he asked how old it was and I told him I didn't know, but that it was replaced fairly recently. He tried to offer me a free upgrade of my water heater. I had to decline several times before he hung up.
