I received several calls for somebody else from this number.  When I called back, I found out that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection.  I found there website ( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number. They told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

Received a call from this number stating that they were trying to contact a family member regarding a private matter [next of kin designation]. They were obviously fishing for a phone number. The name of the woman calling was Pauline Bowen and the company calling was Global. I called this number later for more info regarding the company, and as of now have not received such. These people are devious and less than forthcoming about their intent.

Always make sure you know your rights and statute of limitations before making any payments.for example in ontario its 2 years, after that they cannot sue you or come after you, only harrass you with phone calls.  but the moment you make a 1 cent payment even, the clock resets and they can come after you.also on student loans there is a 7 year period of being out of school where if you get into financial trouble you cannot declare bankrupcy.if you have been out of school 7 years and did not go enroll in any other class, then if you are in financial trouble you can declare bankrupcy.sometimes its the best solution, clears out all the creditors and the phone calls stop, its just for 6 years its on your record, and then you can start rebuilding credit after that.

The number belongs to a collection agency, they will not tell there name though. It Is in ontario. A woman answered my call when I returned it Marina Boyd, Was her name I think.
