Surpisingly, it was a courtesy call to see if I qualified for and had applied for interest relief as my loan will go into repayment soon.

I just called Student Loans to double check. The agent I spoke with said the number was one of theirs before I got the last 4 digits out. I guess it's legit. I called Student Loan's 866 number. They had called me because they tried to mail me something and had an old address on file.

Mwar's comments read like the shysters that run this scam. It's not the official organization. It's a boiler room run out of Mississaga. Call the actual student loan people if you think you have problems. The people at this number are ambulance chasers. A government org won't give you a b***s*** electronic message to wait on the line. I hear that and I hang up. You called me. YOU wait on the line!!!! Arseholes
