The same a***oles called me at EIGHT AM this morning. Claimed they were with CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce! The problem is, the last time I dealt with CIBC at all was over THIRTY YEARS ago and it was just a basic savings account that I closed LONG AGO. I don't believe these a***oles are legit at all.

I got a call from (905) 258-2834, the caller refused to identify themselves or what they were calling for...just starting demanding personal information regarding a resolved past due payment, was able to provide reference numbers etc. We called the only place that could have sent anything to collections and was told our information had been sent to a creditor in error then retracted and they would contact the agency and make sure we did not get another call. The NEXT DAY we got another call .The caller was very accusatory and rude several times saying I was trying to "pull a fast one" whatever that is supposed to mean. EXTREMELY rude, very condescending . My husband called him back directly and had to hang-up on him due to the attitude on the other end, called the main line and filed a complaint and told them to never call or contact us again, then called Telus and BLOCKED the number. From what I have read elsewhere they are a third party collection agency and are bottom feeders who buy debts for pennies on the dollar and then try and collect this debt that has been written off by the original creditor.  They will make you assume they are the collection agency for the original creditor--- they are in fact NOT.  If they contact you via mail or phone, request they send you validation of the debt. DO not ever affirm the debt with them. Never acknowledge the debt make them prove it to you.

Easy answer.. Next time these crooks call, answer the phone and firmly state "do not call this number again, all further correspondence regarding any current or future issues may only be addressed via written mail."  You are free to smile as you hang up on these clowns.   Should they persist, and call again, answer the call with a polite "This call will be recorded and by continuing any further with it conveys your consent to this", then repeat the do not call again warning, with the addition that harrassment complaints will be filed with the authorities.Chances are, since you are dealing with imbeciles (they just don't know when to shut their mouths), you will now have plenty of recorded evidence supporting harrassment charges against the calling individual AND company.  Relax and smile all the way to the local police station.Cheers!Bob

We received a call from this number earlier this afternoon - we live in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. The recorded message was vaguely threatening.
