Squinty

That is hard to read with all the caps.  You seem awfully angry, maybe you should find a jub that makes you less angry, it just isn't healthy

902-800 numbers are all Magic Jack (VOIP) phones in NS and PEI. When the computer is off, then the phone can't be accessed so you will get a WAV voicemail if they choose to leave one (now there is a new MJ that can be used when the computer is off but they're just being released). Magic Jack in Canada is served by Iristel in Ontario. While a caller trace might show 'Halifax' that is just their route, not the location of the Magic Jack owner. I am nowhere near Halifax.

I know this because I have a Magic Jack. When I decided to look up my own number, the information given was inaccurate.

The area code tells you the region. When the '800' is given first, then it is a regular toll-free number.

Clearly, you're ignorant on the topic. Someone, whom I do know, used my phone number as a contact number on several debts. I have been receiving calls for 3 years from numerous collections agencies. At first, I answered, explained that this person is not, nor has she ever, lived here and that I have not spoken with her in ages so would have no idea how to contact her. I, as well as the representative, were always friendly and co-operative. However, 3 years later, I am STILL receiving calls from the same numbers along with new ones as they continue to pass the debt around from agency to agency.    If you think for 5 seconds that simply explaining that the person cannot be reached at this number will prevent them from calling, you're sadly mistake. I'm sure many angry Canadians would agree.    Try not being so bitter, situations happen and the fact that you're so angry and hateful proves nothing more than what everyone is already saying, collections agents are scum who refuse to treat anyone on the other end of a conversation with a morsel of respect. You deserve all the crap you receive during your work day, if it weren't for years of you (and others like you) failing to understand business ethics, you'd have less to complain about.

My gawd...if you only knew how stupid you sound! Yes...tha's what we all think credit cards are...gift cards! Yeah right. Have you ever had hard times? That's beside the point as all these calls are for people who don't even live at the number being called! What intelligent answer do you have for that?Who are you or any of us to judge why someone we don't know hasn't paid a bill. Get a life. Seeings how you are the one who mentioned welfare, you must be on it with nothing to do all day except to answer peoples comments with ignorance.

I HAVE GOTTEN SEVERAL OF THESE CALLS NO RESPONSE WHEN i ANSWERED, i HAVE CALLED BACK THE NUMBER BUT IT'S A BLOCKED NUMBER THAT WON'T ACCEPT INCOMMING CALLS. I have started using *69-call trace and will be reporting this to the police as it is harrassment and will have it stopped. If it is a colletion agency they should have the curtesay to talk to me, I have no outstanding debts and have no knowledge of who they are looking for. Will keep you updated if you wisk.

The call we got this morning from this number - (902) 800-1023 falsely identified their company as BMO MasterCard.  She was speaking very quickly and after questioning her a few times, we could catch that she was saying Ibex BMO MasterCard and she was trying to sell us some home insurance, protection plan, etc.  We told her that we were not interested and she didn't harass us any further, but what annoys me is that they make it sound like they are calling about our credit card account, and the tactic of using a variety of numbers, even local numbers is also very deceptive.
