I was receiving these phone calls as well.I shot the Herald an email the other day explaining I no longer want to be called and was so glad to see that the National Do Not Call list is working as it should.  I received an email back saying I've been removed from their call list.  At least now if I keep receiving the calls I have a paper trail showing that I requested to be removed and they acknowledge removal of my number.

I currently work for macinnis marketing. The guy above is obviously just mad because he got fired.(Who wouldn't be. It's understandable)We are a little call center here in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. There are about 10 people that work in the office. We do promotional offers for the Chronicle Herald. We also call with trial packages for about 13 papers in Ontario and 1 in Alberta. There is nothing devious about what we are doing. A lot of people actually look forward to us calling because they know they are going to get a good deal on their local news paper.The "one fellow" that guy above is talking about in the post above used to have a puff of weed at break.He was asked not to and has never done so again. Not all people that smoke weed are bad people.He is defiantly a good person. One of the nicest people I have ever met.We are all very friendly and if you do not wish to be called again just say "Put me on your do not call list" We then fill out a forum with your name # and address. We do this all by hand so it is important to let us get all the info before hanging up. If we are unable to get all the info it is hard to put you on the in office do not call list.Most of us also have a real good since of humor.  If you want to take our call as a opportunity to crack a good joke. We are OK with that. Some of the best jokes I know have been told to me by people over the phone.
