1:00 p.m. August 11, 2011, Got a call, one of those typical computer-generated ones where the person on the other end doesn't start talking till the second time you say "Hello", and then you hear lots of other operators talking in the background at a call center.Speaker said he was "James", calling from <mumble mumble>. I said "Please take my number off your calling list." He said "No." I hung up.Really glad to see other comments here, to know that this is a dummy number being used for internet-based calling. That explains a lot. Effing telemarketers and scammers!!

I just received a call from this number. Caller identified herself as an information gatherer for radio broadcasters...Wanted names of all in household over the age of 12, along with mailing address & ages...???I gave the info - hope it doesn't come back to haunt me!!!!

I've been called by them numerous times too!  We don't want it, whether it's a scam or not (now leaning towards it being a scam)...I always tell them to put me on their do not call list and ask them many times over if they clearly understand my request?  Always leaves them speechless, and not having a comeback.  I'm definately not changing my home # because of these guys, but if they keep calling, I'm going to find out where to lodge a complaint of harassement.

A client of mine has frequently called me from her home located about 1000 km from my own home/office.  When she calls, my own phone's Caller ID screen gives the calling number as 1-(902) 406-8325, which is absolutely NOT any of her phone numbers and is instead a number of my local phone area.  When I called that (902) number to investigate, a message replied that that number was not in service.  I reported the matter to my client, who believes this confusion is caused by the fact that she uses the SKYPE system for her long-distance calls (this system is more economical), and it seems SKYPE is reusing local "dead" numbers as callers' numbers for the Caller ID screens of the phones of the local persons who get long-distance Skype calls.  I know almost nothing on Skype except that it allows calls to be made frm the caller's computer.  I guess the bizarre events reported by other people called from that number, are due to improper use of the Skype system or of the caller's computer.

Caller said her name was Marisa, caller-id came up as (902) 406-8325 but when you call this number it is not in service.

I have never given out the phone number she called, how did they get the number and my name?
