This number called identifying itself as the "State of California Business Development Office" and seeking information on whether or not we'd finalized our plans to relocate our company. ?Since the prior post shows that she's being called from the same number from Texas, I am going to trust my instincts that this is a scammer.

I normally say "no we're not planning to move" but today I started to say someone had just called last week" and they hung up on me!!! Wonder what this scam is about?

These calls come from more than 1 number and it's always the 'Alberta Business Development Office' to see if we're still looking to move.The frequency of the calls can range from once a month to 50 times a day (this has happened here). I've asked numerous times to be taken off the calling list and i've hung up on them. I don't know how to make them stop calling. It is BEYOND Frustrating.

We have been getting these calls at our office for months! We have a switchboard so I can't tell what number is calling but they use a rotating list of company names. Alberta Business Development, Canada Business Bureau, the list goes on and on but the question is ALWAYS the same. Sometimes there are more than one a day (2 yesterday, one already today). It doesn't matter how many times you hang up, ask for a manager or tell them to stop calling THEY DON"T STOP.

They won't stop, so I love to mess with them. I've told them we have moved to 123 F-off Avenue and they didn't catch on. I've said "I'm sorry, I don't speak English" in English. I've Liam Neeson-ed told them I have a special set of skills and will find them. If I'm not busy at work, they do offer some entertainment. If I am busy, I will just hang up on them. Unfortunately nothing will make them stop, so you might as well have some fun.

Our office receives numerous calls from this number always claiming to be calling from the "Alberta Business Development Office" and wanting to know if we've relocated. When I say to take us off of their list to speak with a manager, they hang up on me before I even finish the sentence.
