Got a call on my work number and my cell.  I don't know how they got my work office number as I don't use it on any personal stuff.  Did a quick search and the number is from Fox Creek, Alberta.

Hmmmm. Congratulations, you've just won 100,000 air mile points,and ALL I had to do was press one. From an Alberta Number??Don't think so, I know Air Miles numbers, and how they would contact a winner of Air Miles.  I guess the scammer still figures there's a lot of folks still falling off the turnip truck.  Hey wait a minute.  Maybe he's a turnip farmer, and looking for those that have fallen off the truck.Not stupid

automated call said i was an airmiles customer (which i am) and said i won 100,000 reward miles. Press 1 to accept.  i just hung up.

Just got one too.

Let the answering maching get it. All it left was '...to accept, press 1'.

The funny thing is, I recongnized half of this number - the 8989 part, and maybe the 949 too. I already have this number blocked from a different area code (Manitoba I believe).

I assume this means these scammers are moving their shop from time-to-time to avoid someone like me visiting their location and going postal or are faking the number and/or this call isn't actually coming from Canada at all.

Me thinks it's time to dump the home phone line.

They just called my unlisted MagicJack number.  Said for being a valued Air Miles customer I won a vacation and to press 1 to claim it. I hung up.
