Never advertise with these people. 100% scam.

They call and claim to be from "Canadian Credit Management" which is a phony company. They are actually employed by Cedar Publishing who use deceptive practices to trick people into accepting an ad in their scam magazine. Ours was for their Missing Kids magazine which has absolutely nothing to do with Child Find Canada or any other organization and is basically just a magazine full of ads with a few pictures of missing kids. One of them is in the magazine 4 or 5 times. The money is purely ad revenue for Cedar Publishing. They tricked our receptionist into okaying the ad by telling her that they needed to verify our business information for our ad. Now they are trying to scare us into paying for this 2012 ad by claiming they are calling from a collection agency! If you get any calls from Missing Kids, Cedar Publishing, Cdn Credit Mgmt etc HANG UP IMMEDIATELY!!!

I also have been getting nasty phone calls from them and have done my research on their ads. There is no magazine and it is a scam. Calgary police have warned about these guys. If everyone effected could report their problems to the police something could be done to shut them down. I told the rude man on the phone if he could tell me where I could buy a copy or find one I would pay him. He responded that I should have thought about that before I agreed to run a ad. I'm not paying them and have blocked their number on my iPhone and will pursue police action!! Hope more will follow.

This guy has been calling repeatedly every day from a blocked number. He always asks for my colleague by his first name, pretending that it is a personal call. Naturally, it isn't. He finally admitted that it was something to do with Seniors. He asked for my colleague's cell number!!!!!!! I told him that I didn't know, and hung up. Today, he called from an unblocked number that said "Main Head Office" and this number. When I told him that he was disrupting my business he said "well you shouldn't have answered the phone, then!" and wished me (sarcastically) a nice day and hung up. It's no surprise to find he is from Cedar Publishing. They appear to be crooks, and judging from how quickly this sales rep became hostile, they appear to be hiring only the "best" people for this work. Probably ex-cons or street people who can't find work anywhere else. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY as their publications are not worth the paper they are printed on and you will NOT get any business from the very expensive advertisement that they want you to place. BEWARE of Cedar Publishing.

Cedar publishing will try to scare you into making payment by threatening to take you to collections. If a "collections agent" calls on their behalf, ignore it!! All it is is a person who works for cedar pretending to be from a third party collections agency. If they call, ignore and don't pay. Simple as that.

They have been calling me for months for the samething. I got a copy of the advertisement and it looks nothing like my company logo. So it was not approved but I still got billed. Anyhow now they have transferred it to some credit risk management company (smoke screen) it is the same company of some sort. Number that shows up on display is +1 877 159 1739 this is a fake i wish I knew how he does but the number she leaves (Leah is her name) is +1 888-454-3349. Total scam. They will have go beyond the ends of the earth to get money from my company

Class A scam artists!! They trick people into running an ad with them, without any proper due diligence to get a contract or written consnet. They lie that they have a 'proof', which they never produce, and which is inadmissable in a court of law and you're not supposed to record someone without their permission. I had just refused to pay an invoice for an ad they ran without my authorization, and waiting for the harrassing phone calls to start. But I'm on to them and a step ahead. I plan to file a detailed complaint report to every place possible. I don't understand how in a country that has laws, people like them and like this con artist, Moe, could be licensed to operate a business!! Why isn't he behind bars already???

Doug, you got ripped off. Think carefully, except for the copy they mailed you, have you ever seen the magazine *anywhere* else? They claim to only direct-mail them - but how would anyone know to request a copy if there is no general circulation? I'm sorry to inform you that you have been had. I'm sure Moe thanks you for your generous donation to his three million dollar house being built in castle downs...

Same story gave them money for a couple of years, recieved a notification from actual Child Find stateing there organization does not solicit money and are not affiliated with this publishing company. Had my secretary look into it and red flags started poping up every where reported them to BBB  CFIB YOU NAME IT.Received call today Lea ext #226 (  Actual Answering Service For 16 Companies ) answering service at 10 in the morning Really ?  I gave to help find missing kids not pad somebodies  pocket .

So is this the same guy calling me regarding magazine ad space in a magazine called Missing Kids News Report? I don't really know what to do or how to handle it? I called to say I didn't want it, but couldn't get through to anyone, never signed anything, never gave them any payment info and never saw or received a finished ad, now they are calling me saying I owe them money for 2 ads, and that they'll send me to collections? I don't think that they can actually do that, as they have no financial info on me, also it costs them money to use a collections agency, but I want to be sure that we are talking about the same people...the guy on the phone was super rude and sounded like the brother from Everybody Loves Raymond?

Check out Crime Stoppers, they cite Cedar directly, and mention the Fair trade act by which they require written authorization. Trust me I have had harassing sales calls that have lasted up to 10 minutes as registered on my cell (and consequently my cell bill) trying to deny taking the ads. Over the past 3 years I have been billed over $3k, all of which I had paid until recently, when they sent me invoices for a company I closed out more than a year before the ad was ok'd. At this point I laughed, requested my proof of authorization for that ad (which they do not have, Duh!) and began to go over my files for the last 3 years. (I changed company names do to an expansion in services offered and the onset of partners). At any rate, there is at least $1000 of unverified ads I have paid without question, and now the two I know for a fact are bogus will lend support to a report I will be sending in to BBB.

Doug....... Did you know that the Child Find organization is taking Cedar Publishing to court ! Did you know that Crimestoppers has a warning out regarding fraudulant activities by Cedar Publishing?I would think that you are affiliated with this Moe idiot. But....On the chance that you are not, I can tell you this... Cedar publishing puts out a child find magazine that has nothing to do with child find canada.You may infact support the efforts of Child Find Canada.... But the money you send to cedar publishing goes directly to Moe! the owner of cedar publishing. Do your due diligence and research Cedar publishing.       We are starting a legal motion against Cedar publishing here in Ottawa as well ... and we are getting more and more people from all over Canada coming on board weekly.

i am more than willing to help with this situation. i just received another phone call for this scam, thats dated from 2008. i dealt with this last year with them calling me off and on for 2 months, at the business and on my personal cell (they got it from another employee, when they called looking for me one day) same as everyone else here, they called said that theres is an outstanding balance on an issue from 2009 and has still yet to be paid, said that i said yes to the deal, and that it was published, and we were sent a copy of the magazine for neighbourhood watch (cedar publication)....we have never recieved a copy, because they dont even have our appropriate mailing adress (which they would have if we had actually made this deal over the phone) not only that but i have a recorded msg from one of the "collecters" on my voicemail right now, just recorded it to my computer for proof, personally attacking me for not paying this bill, she actually quotes the number,  except she said its 1-+1 888-454-3349 and tries to threaten to call my bosses to get me into trouble because she didnt like how i talked to her today.... the company told them to take it to court last year,  if this actually happened, if we had actually said yes, and actually gotten a copy....and have still yet to see results...its a complete scam, threating to bring it to a collectors agency and small claims court i spoke to john ( the supposed v.p) last year and again today....he told me that how it works is that they call and if we say yes, he is the one who calls back for all the information, for invoice purposes and he signs a piece of paper making it legitimate that this was their "legal agreement" ( him calling and signing a piece of paper with a date on it)...that he has phone records saying when he made the call....i told him we went over this last year, when they called looking for me to pay this "bill" i have proof i wasnt even there that day to answer this call, and now its a year later and im still dealing with this....they have no claim, no signature from anyone at this business, i asked him what we did, and he had no idea, if that was case, how could he have make an ad for a business if he had no idea what we did or what we sold...and i mentioned again like i did last year when we spoke, if the ad had our logo, he said yes i said thats impossible because we dont have one...and he said that he could find one on the internet....leaving me to believe this is how detailed this scam has become going to the great lengths of finding other businesses logos on the internet...i have gone in to great detail dealing with this people....this woman threated me today, to call me everyday and quote "disrupt" my life until i pay this bill......oh and i forgot mention....im the manager,...just an employee....i dont even own the business, and this is what i get to hear eveyday..... apparently....so please if theres anyone with anyway to end this, and if my help could be of any assistance you have it.....and they said that they faxed us a copy of the invoice last year (but were careful enough to not say that today when i asked them to fax us a copy like they did last year)....because we dont even have a fax machine...never have...not even a fax line..................and the number that i have that called me today too is (780) 701-3712...try and call that one...they"ll pick up and i asked for john....ask for a steve or moe or shawn...im sure you'll get passed to the same guy

Same as above.  I had received a call.  Gave my fax number for more information, and now am being told that I agreed to the ad and that I will be receiving a bill.  I did not agree.  I did not sign anything.  I wanted more information.  Can't find anything about the actual magazines anywhere.
