DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CRIMINALS! CBV Collections are known for purchasing old debt files from companies for pennies on the dollar and trying to collect on them. These old debt files are usually already written off by the companies the money was originally owed to. Thus any money you send them goes into their pockets, not to the companies the debts are with. If you think you owe a debt and you want to pay it off, deal directly with the company you owe the money to. If you are unsure then get a copy of your credit report. If CBV are trying to get money from you, the debt will most likely show up on your credit report as written off by the original company.

The people using this number are Criminals, they are exploiting the law, do NOT deal with them, do not pay them anything ever. This company CBV collections finds out when a debt has been written off, meaning whoever you owed the money too has give up and filed it as a loss on their tax form .... you no longer owe this money and the company will not seek to collect it.... but CBV pays a 2 cent on the dollar ( IF they collect fee) so they try to collect it, even tho you do not owe it any longer, they will never stop, all you can do is block their number, do not pay them a cent, they are usinbg idiot workers with no clue, like homeless people to get on the phones and lie and bully.

Call three or more times a day. I have a new phone cell number, do not know how they have it. I have blocked the number so they can not leave a voice mail.

They can call all they want because I don't answer unknown callers, but my fax machine will. If they can't abide by provincial legislation then they can go suck on a egg.

yes they call several times in a row, then none for a few days and then call back
I have read reports that they have been under police investigation before which says do not answer the call as they care scammers too
also I had a call from the US as well which was probably a routed call
will not answer or talk to them
even if they are a collection, they are only 3rd party, if they want to collect anything they need to sue you and they never will cause they know they won't get anything and only a legal bill.
I have notified my lawyer and he has said to only respond with call my lawyer we are waiting
also if you talk to them let them know you have contacted the RCMP concerning them

You shouldn't answer that number, it's a spam and I got told that if you answer it they will somehow get all your information from your cell. Like bank information, contacts and etc.

It's not always Telus, I'm with Rogers and I use to get 5 a day but now I'm only getting 1 a day.

& I'm always getting this unknown callers right before and sometimes right after they call me. I get almost 3 a day..

I to keep getting calls from this number, I will tell you all what Telus does, if you owe money to them, they will give your file to a few different collection agencies, if you decide to pay the bill to the collection agency, Telus won't say anything else to the other collection agencies that you did pay it therefore you will still keep getting calls from different numbers. Telus is a scam anyways, thats why I refuse to pay them a dime more. I got rid of my cell phone from them and just have a landline and I do not give out my number.

New victim

I am now a target of this [***] number, I answered and low and behold it was automated, "So and so has an important/urgent business matter that needs to be discussed with you please hold on the line." managed to bring up this site before anyone REAL answered and then read scam, collectors, etc. and....CLICK. I immediately hung up I will most likely get this number again but I did contact another company related to computer troubles and they asked me to download gotoassist.com software to allow them to access my screen and anything on my computer- being a relatively new user to the computer problems I was having and the "d*ck" that I was talking to giving me what I now know was fake Microsoft tech support credentials over the phone I now have them phoning but I haven't received a call recently from them trying again which is strange for me although now after the last time they "fooled me" I cant install windows updates on my laptop and only computer I have, if I let the automatic update run which comes on all computers it stops and stays on a screen stating "Failed to configure windows updates, reverting changes" and that is where it just stays. I had to reformat my computer-didn't work, then I tried to system restore my pc settings-didn't work. Now I am just stuck on my laptop refusing to pay $50-$200 to repair the damage done so I am using my computer as is, but I think if they call again I will take down the credential number name and use an auto tracer system I am going to look for on the internet after I am done typing this out then I will be able to trace the call and get his exact location.

silly people

It's a collection agency (CBV) guys. They don't have a do not call list. They stop calling when you pay them, lol.

DH

When I got home today there was a message on my answering machine.  Weird music playing, then at the end some guy says "hello?" then hangs up.  This is my first call with the weird music. Creepy is right.

1-+1 866-387-8751!!!!! This is the number that they have called me from stating I have a an overdue telus bill.Problem is that this bill is over 7 years old. Then they stated I owe a fortis bill since 2008. Problem is I have been completely paid off and caught up since November 2011.

annoyed

So this same company keeps calling my cell looking for my wife. Except they are asking for her by her maiden name. I think this falls under the same category of the agency finding an old contract she had with Telus from 2006-2008ish and trying to cash in on what she owed+massive interest charges. She's actually requested detailed information about the bill months back and they just sent her an invoice for the total amount but no breakdown of how she owed the money. They basically phone my phone 5 times a day sometimes, 90% of the time when I answer it hangs up. Minutes later they phone her (new) cell number, which I'm not even sure how they got as it's only 3 months old (from Telus no less). When my wife asked Telus about it they said they didn't have a record of her owing money - plus why would they give her a new contract if she still owed them money?I'm hoping that I can get the number blocked from my cell..
