Wow!  Taped messaged said "You have been selected to receive 2,000 Air Miles points.  Press 1."I pressed 0 and they hung up on me!  Good Riddance!

This number will charge a nominal fee to your account - usually 50 cents if you answer. If you press 1, you pay $40.

Your carrier probably wont refund your money. Just don't answer it.

I see a lot of rogers customers got this call.I guess Bell customers are no longer safe either. Tried call back and says disconnected.

This is done by "Phone spoofing, basically its a program that "Spoofs" the number on your caller I.D. so the originating caller can hide behind the spoofed number and it looks like a local or canadian based phone number. These calls are generally done from overseas (read India and Pakistan) or the U.S.. Phone spoofing is illegal in the U.S. but since canadian politicans have their collective heads up their @$$ it is "legal" here. The autodialers dial multiple #'s at the same time, when it gets a hit it drops all other connections. the only way to stop it is for us all to put some pressure on our M.P.'s to make this phone spoofing practice illegal. What a great way to cheat senior citizens out of their retirement money. looks like all the posters here are canadian...........

I would doubt if this is an actual call from a legal part or even any part of Rogers. Although had to learn the hard way that Telus telephone business is NOT the same as the Telus land line business or even affiliated with Telus Business Centers. If you sign on with someone on the phone good luck trying to get anywhere at a real Telus business. Two completely different entities. Same could be for Roger's, don't know though. But ya this same number keeps calling me the only one besides the annoying "This is your Captain speaking" prize scam. Like to take that Captain's head and shove it, cap and all, up his own.... you know where.
