Not really. They can robodial all the numbers in 604 and 778. Your best defence is to ignore calls from numbers that you don't recognize. If it's from someone you know, they more likely will leave a message.

Got one today, pre-recorded message mentions something about free air miles.

I received a call from this number a few minutes ago. I did not answer as I have seen this # before and its total BS. I have never had marketing calls to my cellular # and never, ever give it out. How is this legal for them?

It's a telemarketer. Mine was an auto recorded message that said something about Airmiles. I hung up immediately.
