We were told our name was given as a reference for a car loan from a friend.  The call is coming from General Motors Acceptance Corporation.  It's Questionable.... We don't know of anyone that has bought a car from GMAC.  They are calling trying to trace down where the auto is so they can repro it.

They want to know where the person is because they want to re-possess their vehicle.  They called and asked me for a "personal reference" for my sister... they want to "update" her info... I told them she is estranged and that I have no way of knowing where she lives.  When I talked to my sister she told me she hasn't paid her payment for 4 months.

Weird, I got a random call from them as well, no clue but it said from PeterBorough, ONTARIO Canada HOWEVER in our area, we have heard there has been a call scam to get $10 from people so BE careful

I got a call several times from this number.  It is AmeriCredit Financial Services from what the message said.  And I also was told it was for a reference; however, the person who they are calling about does not recall giving out my info for such a thing.  Makes me wonder now how these people got my name and cell number.

I just got a call and I declined it and listened to the voicemail it was a horrible recording saying someone used me for a reference I know they must have found my info online because they used my nickname instead of my real name idk how they got my number but it's creepin me out
