My experience is very similar to the above.
I have received 3 calls this week - the people who spoke with me have a strong Indian nationality accent, and kept saying Okay Okay ....
Today:
Received a call from "Daniel Scott" !!!  - who claims to be from Media Shack representing Bell Canada with a special offer from Bell - some Statellite HD offer. As expected, he asked for my credit card no!!
Yesterday:
Received call about a absolutely free Samsung mobile phone - asked for SIN# or credit card#
The Day Before:
Again a free mobile Samsung Link phone - offer from Bell and Solomobile - asked for SIN# or credit card#

BE CAREFUL - they are very persistent.

"Peter" Employee number 1023 and ext 390 was calling from Solo Mobility...I have a cell through Solo so when he called offering me a free phone I assumed it was because my contract was comming up...thought that it was weird that he called me the wrong name and asked if I was the daughter of the house...warning bells really went off when he couldn't tell me my cell phone number.  Told him that I would call him back and reported it to phone busters.

He also gave me the number (416) 907-0401

I got a call from this number on Feb 16th 2010, and he immediately said "Hi, this is Bell calling their customers to offer upgraded promotional pricing on their already existing cellphone plans!" I immediately thought it was a scam since I have Wind and have never been with Bell, so I told him that and then he hung up. Coming on here certainly confirms that it was a scam. It's pretty disappointing that this number has not been blocked yet!!! From Nov. 24th to Feb 16.. good job CRTC

Actually, if there are conducting a survey BEFORE they start their sales pitch, they are allowed BY LAW to get numbers from the do not call list.  Charities are also allowed to access the list.

I recieved a call from another number that was dead air then a few seconds later I recieved a call from this number. The man sounded East Indian or so and he claimed that he was from Bell. He originally wanted to speak to my father but spoke to me instead. He said that he had won a Bell LG cellphone because of some neighborhood survey draw. At first I was skeptical but I really did not know. He asked for the address, date of birth, name, SIN card information, credit card information and probably more if I didn't become suspicious enough. I stopped right after the name. He tried to tell me that he would wait for me once I found some kind of document of my fathers but I knew clearly now that this was a scam. He tried to butter me up with all the deals we would be getting and I informed him we already have a cell phone and we do not want it. After he even tried getting my name but I said no and told him we do not want the phone and I hung up.
