I live in rural BC. A call came in yesterday from this number while I was a work. My daughter answered and told the fellow (East Indian accent) to put us on the do not call list. He was stand offish with her. He later called back when I was home. I usually cut telemarketers off cold but he caught my interest with this special deal. My story is similar to the above. After his sales pitch he wanted my credit card number. I refused to give it to him. He said no problem my bank account number will do. I refused to give it to him. The call then ended. These guys are ?phishing? for personal info for fraud and identity theft. Be careful!

Have you ever tried to look up an email address for Bell or anyone else to complain? Try abuse @ bell.ca or abuse @ telus.com ( Abuse@AnyName ) works. Tell them to stop with the phone calls or block that phone number, are they not the phone company? Good Luck

Received a call from this number today, January 9, 2010. Was told that my number was picked for a free $300.00 phone from SOLO. As well as other perks-no contract, free nights, etc. At end of pitch was actually asked for my SIN number, I laughed and refused, then it was a credit card, I laughed and hung up.
The Solution
Of the few times I have picked up, I've often listened to dead air space. No one is on the other end. Does anyone know what this is suppose to accomplish? Are they trying to determine the best time to call?
