If you're in Ontario complain to the Ministry of Consumer Protection. It is illegal for a collection agency to contact you in a way that costs you money. Get the government involved on your side.

ARO Collections they call everyday - 3 times a day looking for the person who had the the number before. They rude and demading to speak that person I keep telling them i am not that person and say that if they keep calling i will call the police. they keep calling

I have gotten several calls from these people who insist that I have a past due account. The problem is I have never had the credit they are saying they are collecting for. I called the company who supposedly referred my file to them...they have no record of my SIN number with them. I have been in contact with the credit bureau they say no such bill exists for my SIN number. So i call these RFO people back and relay to them that I have no account with the creditor they are "collecting" for, I informed them I had spoken to Equifax and that they didn't find the debt either. Finally they conceded and decided maybe they were calling the wrong person, and they promised to stop calling...They are still calling...I just stopped answering.
