You must have done some research to find all that info.....they phoned me from !-213-699-17311 ... after telling her I was a computer technician and their was nothing wrong with my computer ..... I kept asking her for the Company name which she would say so fast I could make it out but she did give me this phone number ...the Ontario. Help desk....I ask her if she could hold on for a minute while I set a 3 way call with a friend who would be quite interested until I told her my friend was the WRP Fraud Squad..... I guess she did find it funny ,she hung up on me, these spammers have no sense of humor ..... But their great if your bored and want to screw with their head for awhile...... You can have so much fun when your retired and want to play head games....... I love the idiots that call about ducted cleaning...... One of my lines is my ducks are clean but I have 150 geese that need cleaning that's usually good for 10 minutes or so as they try to convince me that they clean ducts not ducks...were do they find these idiots

Jan 28/2012Just had a call from (647) 288-1790. Guy named PAUL SMITH with heavy Indian accent. Needs to help me fix my computer. I will report him to the fraud dept. 1-+1 888-495-8501 as listed on a prior post, but isn't this disgusting?? Don't the micro soft people have a good reason to sue them for false claims?... nervy little creeps. I

received a call from the same bunch - said they were from india and I had a virus on my PC - they could correct it if I logged onto their site I suggested that it was a scam and hung up - called right back - didn't pick up so they left a number to call back (647) 288-1790.

I got a call about an hour ago from (647) 288-1790. First of all, she could barely speak English and then asked me if I had a computer. I immediately realized it was a scam so I hung up on her. She called right back and said that I 'had no manners'. I told her to f**k off and I hung up again. She called back AGAIN and told me she was there to 'teach me some manners'. I told her once again to piss off and if she called back I would be phoning the police. She didn't call back.
I googled the phone number and came across this site. I reported it to the Government of Canada's fraud website and I also just blocked their phone number. God I hate these scam artists......

This really seems like a scam. I got a cold call from:
Software Maintenance Department of Online PC Care, specializing in Windows service Senior Support Person, Simon
I strung them along to hear more.
"This call has been given to all Windows users, not only you. Your computer may be downloading unauthorized software"
'You are a user of genuine Windows"
The first person on the call walked me through checking the event log for any warnings or errors (which there are always some). When there was some, he passed me on to the next person up the chain, who was named Simon.
helpdesk phone number (647) 288-1790 Simon, employee ID 10948
I asked for the company web site URL. He wasn't willing to provide it. "It is highly confidential" Whatever.
When I asked if I could call back the number given, he became agitated and said that he had already given me all the information I should need.
I asked how they got my number. They did not answer the question.
I hung up at that point.

Online PC Care called me and tried to convince me there were severe problems and viruses on my machine. They tried to charge me over $160 to "fix" them.
This is a scam. Nothing is wrong with my machine. Every machine will have warning messages in your event viewer over a period of time for many possible reasons (i.e. you mistype your password and will will log a warning message).
Online PC Care tried to convince me there was a 12-Month Microsoft warranty on my computer that had expired. Another lie.... My system was only 2 months old but they kept insisting this "fake" warranty had expired.
Online PC care even tries (in the text above) to make themselves look credible by listing themselves as a "genuine tech support company" when, in fact they are the scammer described in that same paragraph.
If you get a call from these guys, contact the authorities. They are your best ally in the war on scammers such as these.
I will credit them with one statement though. On the last line of thier web-site "scammer" section, they state "Be safe while surfing over the internet! Don't be a victim to these malicious Scams!". That is good advice.
Avoid this scam by avoiding Online PC Care. :)
