Got a response today from them. They 'claim' to be from an organization called Cops for Kids and are fishing around for donations to their cause. Just one slight little problem: The police have stated time and time again they NEVER solicit donations over the phone. Was also given a website. www.copsforkids.com. Whois identifies them as Xentel DM Corporation out of Calgary. I think these guys are registering through them to avoid publicly revealing their name. I never visited the site but I would strongly recommend avoiding it as well.

Nobody is calling you 10 times a day for anything unless you are a deadbeat that doesn't pay their bills.

I'm not sure I believe that a company can carry out a scam for two solid years using the exact same phone number. (I also received a call while I was groggy from sleep and it was about cops / kids / money.)

You can easily find out for yourself by checking page 7 of the Police Associations magazine.
Xentel helps them raise money for their Kids and Cops Fishing Days program. Something that helps kids all over Ontario get 1 on 1 time with our officers.
It's a shame people make it out as something it's not.
