Number called and left a message, said they are from "CRA" and tax fraud charges will be filed and tax evasion (verbatim, poor grammar seems to be common with scammers). Said to call him back at (613) 366-3838 to speak with supervisor. Identity theft / credit card phishing scam.

CRA phone scam. Tried reporting to Anti-Fraud Centre but their phones are down.

I too   got a similar call today from a lady with a heavy asian accent an a very poor line connection. She talked about tax evasion   going to court etc. As the line was very poor quality i asked for  her  phone number to call he back. she said it was: 6133-66-3838..... interesting as our phone numbers are not grouped like that. When I did call back        the  phone was answered "CRA".... but when I said the call was being monitored,  he  hung up!!If in fact CRA  was after anyone for  tax issues, the first communication would be by  mail, not by phone.... so this is  so very obviously a scam
