The most interesting thing about these crooks is the caller ID NAME appearing in quotes "(613) 219-1293". Wonder how they do that?

Apparently these are calls from the conservative party of Canada requesting money however these are daily calls and the it is always dead air.

You did not answer my question:

Is 1-(613) 219-1293 a valid phone number used by the conservative party of Canada?

If so, why have I been receiving on average one or more calls per day from this number, all of the calls being dead air? (I pick up but the other end is silent)

Please ANSWER the first question.
I, and many other Canadians who have supported the conservative party, would like to know if this is truly from the conservative party of Canada's fund-raising campaign.

If these calls are not legit, then something should be done to deal with this phone spam as it tarnishes the conservative party's reputation(this includes letting us know that these calls do not originate from the conservative party.)

If these calls are legit, then something should be done about it as Canadians who support the conservative party do NOT wish to be spammed with daily dead-air calls.

I am not the only one receiving dead-air calls from this number.


Please ANSWER the questions.



PS. Don't 'happily' remove me from your call list as I do wish to support the conservative party, but please do answer the questions.

its from somewhere in ottawa. thats what the 613 means

They just don't stop calling me last days, but I don't answer when I see a phone number I don't know. No messages left. But I'm wondering how did they get my number, because it supposed to be confidential.

I got a call, but it was dead when I answered. Thanks to the above poster on the call back, I am a member of the party and they do call me from time to time.

Called at 9:30 p.m March 23, 2009.  I was in bed when the call woke me up.  Didn't get there in time to answer it.
