There is not a specific person behind this number, i think it is a forward number. I am a freephoneline.ca user. My FPL number is 647XXXXXXX, today I tried calling from my FPL number to a Vancouver friend's number, but he got an incoming callid (604) 628-2598 instead of my real FPL number.

I got a call from this and took it. A caller was a person who spoke in Chinese. I said I could not understand ...was hanged up..???

(604) 628-2598 called me several times on Sunday, when I was in USA and didn't want to get paid. Than when I called to ask who called me from your number several times today, he said no one!

This number must be a switch board number, simply because I got a call from this number today and it is actually from Indeed.com. Every few weeks, one of Indeed account manager calls our company as a courtesy to check  if we need any help as we post a lot of jobs on Indeed.

So judging by all the comments on this thread, I am assuming this number is probably an outgoing number from a switchboard.

This number is being used as a rental fraud at the moment.
They're pretending to be a missionary in nigeria and asking you to send the damage deposit and then they will have the keys to the appartment sent to you.

I've just started being bombarded with nuisance calls in the last week, including this no. They all started right after I place a few ads on Craigslist. When I did a quick search of one of the numbers, up came a Craigslist ad listed by someone selling something from a basement suite in North Vancouver. I have never picked up, but it's really annoying. Yesterday I received three calls, back-to-back. As it happens, I just sprained my foot, so hobbled to the phone three times. This number (604) 628-2598) was call no. 3. A minute before that was a "blocked" call and a minute before that was (604) 678-9476 (a cursory search revealed that the latter no. was known to RCMP and could be reported to RCMP Phone Busters at 1-+1 888-495-8501), which I promptly did. Reason would dictate that all three calls came from the same person/people.The RCMP told me to just not pick up. Today I blocked (604) 628-2598, but I'm sure they'll keep calling from the "blocked" and other numbers. I have better things to do with my life than dodge calls from scam artists, add to my "blocked" list, and sit around on hold for half an hour waiting for RCMP Phone Busters. There needs to be more energy and funds directed to protecting the public and maybe a little less to furthering technology right now. It's intrusive, violating and stressful.
