Fellow identified himself as working for a company with POS systems of some sort. I told him I don't accept calls from telemarketers which he denied he was, the more he talked confirmed he was a telemarketer. He wouldn't shut up & continually tried to overtalk me until I told him the number he called was registered to the do not call list. I repeated several times a request to be removed from their lists. Phone number on call display is (604) 628-2598. My number is in Canada.

Hah, this call called me today around 5-7pm.

Picked up, no response. So I just sat, left my phone on, munched on my food, let the caller hear my munching, I even sang and annoyed (IF there is anyone listening) out loud.

Then I heard a "hang up" sound.

Geez, reading the earlier comments. I see "threats" being mentioned from this number. Now I'm quite "curious" in a way.

I've just started being bombarded with nuisance calls in the last week, including this no. They all started right after I place a few ads on Craigslist. When I did a quick search of one of the numbers, up came a Craigslist ad listed by someone selling something from a basement suite in North Vancouver. I have never picked up, but it's really annoying. Yesterday I received three calls, back-to-back. As it happens, I just sprained my foot, so hobbled to the phone three times. This number (604) 628-2598) was call no. 3. A minute before that was a "blocked" call and a minute before that was (604) 678-9476 (a cursory search revealed that the latter no. was known to RCMP and could be reported to RCMP Phone Busters at 1-+1 888-495-8501), which I promptly did. Reason would dictate that all three calls came from the same person/people.The RCMP told me to just not pick up. Today I blocked (604) 628-2598, but I'm sure they'll keep calling from the "blocked" and other numbers. I have better things to do with my life than dodge calls from scam artists, add to my "blocked" list, and sit around on hold for half an hour waiting for RCMP Phone Busters. There needs to be more energy and funds directed to protecting the public and maybe a little less to furthering technology right now. It's intrusive, violating and stressful.

Its used by people calling from Ipod touches I know cuz when my brother-in-law phones from it that shows up. So you have random people who can call from the IPod touch. if you phone the police they can get permission to find out from the company what the IP address connecting to it is. the problem is that you can use any wireless internet that isnt password protected. So I could go outside starbucks, phone you with my ipod touch (not I-phone) and harass you. lovely isn't it.Just to clarify, anyone who calls a metro vancouver number using the Ipod touch (if they use the free application on the ipod touch) will be routed through this number. Like the guy above me said its voip caller id. this number isn't a person, its just a service that connects an internet connection to a phone (as in your telephone when they call).

Received a call from this number inquiring about a credit card. Asked for me by name. When I inquired about which Bank he was with, he said the name of a bank I do not use. I then asked for his name and his number at the bank and that I would call him back. He hung up at that point.

This number (604) 628-2598 called and then didn't leave a message. I don't answer my phone because of unknown callers like this one, and glad I didn't considering the posts about this caller.
