First I was told by automated voice that I had won 100,000 air miles!  Wow!
Then transferred to a fast-talking salesman who identified himself as just "Mike", from what sounded like "Sunset Group", who told me about two vacations I could get for just $698 US.  He said it was a $3,298 US value package for just $698 US.  Said the two holidays had to be taken within 2.5 years and were for 2 adults and two kids.  One vacation in Cancun, Mexico, (6 days, 5 nights), the other in Orlando, Florida, (5 days).  He invited me to look at www.cancuncalling.com but said I could not access the offer on line, IT HAD TO BE DONE BY THE END OF THE PHONE CALL!  He asked what credit card I had and that's when I decided to terminate the conversation.  Scam!

this is reply i got from bell canada pls read it Thank you for your letter regarding a caller representing themselves as Bell Canada. This was not a call from Bell. Many cellular customers from various companies are being called and told that very same thing. When you press ?1? to collect the travel dollars ?you won?, it connects you to a person who then attempts to extract personal information from you.It is just another form of social engineering that the criminal world has come up with. The best advice I can give is to do exactly what you did?hang up.We take this very seriously and our Corporate Security group is currently investigating the situation. Your were smart enough to opt out.  I called my visa company and traced the company, Tropical Travel, which had withdrawn my money.  I called Tropicaltravel.net and the lady said that they are not related to cancuncalling.com nor is Tropicaltravel.com.  They had written to the Attorney General about this scam but obviously the guys were off the hook.  The lady said that they have stopped in the US but started in Canada.  THE GUYS ARE VERY ORGANIZAED AND PROFESSIONAL AND THEY EVEN CALLED ME BACK TO CONFIRM MY ADDRESS TO SEND THE INFO PACKAGE.  PLEASE STOP THIS AND DO NOT BE THE NEXT VICTIM.

Got a phone call from this today. Almost went through with it, but our credit card turned it down. I am very thankful because I got really scared. Our credit card will not autorize anything outside the US. I don't know if it is a scam or not or if it is a time share thing, but it seemed to good to be true. I hope since our card was declined, there is no way they can hack into it now if it is a scam.

Got a call from this telemarketer offering a vacation package in Cancun, Mexico and Orlando Fla.. very polished and they seem genuine. I checked out their website while on the phone and they are real. The problem is that they want an immediate answer and wont give any other option. This is very suspicious and I turned down the offer. I don't like to be rushed into making a financial decision this quickly. The package was very attractive and I can see a lot of people being tempted to buy. If anyone knows this is a scam I would like to know.

got a very similar call with a 403 prefix (ie Calgary or area), same details.  Checked out the website.  Looks real, but sooo simple.  Will call me tomorrow at 330.  Sounds like it's too good to be true
