Apparently the subscriber transferred their number to whatever carrier they moved on to.To be able to block unwanted SMS messages (and phone calls too).iPhone users can install apps such as "Call Blocker" or "MCleaner" or "MobileGate"There are similar apps available for Android and Blackberry, just do a bit of searching.Perhaps this is a feature that we should insist as part of the basic service and be part of the device's OS to allow everyone the ability to filter unwanted SMS messages, iMessage, phone calls, etc...
