I understand that the University of Pheonix had 50,000 graduates last year alone. They maybe for profit but at least I dont have to worry about my hard earned tax dollars being to given to them. Unlike public Universities they have been getting funds from the government for decades. As for Meritus University, they offer the same sort of degree program as any other institution in Canada.

You guys, it is a legit. university. You can earn an degree by studying online (Bachelors or Masters degree). 'meritusu.ca'If you don't want calls to your residence or cell phone stop filling out ridiculous surveys on the net to win stuff (leaving your contact info.). Whoever is doing the marketing for this institution obviously has access to this info. somehow.

Phone number called me twice between 12:00pm and 4pm (Ottawa Ontario time) I did not recognize the number so I did not answer.

I know there is no federal accreditation and that they are accredited. However, I do not like the fact of them calling me morning until 5pm every night and on the weekend. It is harassment, I even get emails not one but like 10 or so. It is a real turn off for me to go to school. I would love to go to school but just let it be-- with the phone calls. If they are that desperate for business, I wonder if they will be around in a year or two.
