I just got a call from (506) 229-83776 and they left a message on my voicemail that it was about lowering my credit card interest rate. Is this some scam? How did they get my cell phone number.

506 22404391 called my cell phone, T-Mobile. I didn't answer because I did not recognize the number. But I checked my voice mail, the first part was cut off, and all that was heard was " and your account will be closed". Thinking that this is my bank or something, in Dyer emergency mode, I hit the call back number. A lady answered, "Hello". I replied, "I am returning your call".She said "I didn't call you, this is COSTA RICA"..I immediatley Hung up, called t-mobile to make sure there were no hidden charges. T-mobile says there is a 2 hour window before they can view the incoming and outgoing call, and any additional charges. Man, I HATE SCAMMERS.....

I got a call from this number on my cell phone. Also, how did they get my cell number? They wanted to lower the interest on my credit card. I said what are the last 4 digits of the card you are calling about. He said, "I am not allowed by law to give out that information." I said firmly "You cannot give me the last 4 digits of the credit card account you are calling me about?" He said (I don't know if I can say this on the internet, but) "F-U-C-K;" then he hung-up.

I wanted to let people know that if you have an iphone that is "jailbroken" you can download an application called iblacklist. This is the best $8 or $9 bucks I ever spent.
My cell number is my only number and I have and I have been getting these F***** scam artists calls for at least 18 months. However with iblacklist you can block specific numbers as well as entire area codes! You have options to send it to VM or just give a busy signal and hang up.
Since I have downloaded it a couple weeks ago it has worked great! There are a number of other options on iblacklist so check it out. I have not seen anything like it with regular itunes applications so your iphone will have to jailbreak your iphone but that is a fairly easy process and can be reversed later if needed.
Another option I was using before was Youmail. This is a great service that allows you to route your calls to caller specific recordings. This service is also free and can be used with any cell phone. So it might be an option for other cell phone users. However the problem with Youmail is you can't block an entire aread code so these scammers just keep changing a few digits and the misery continues. Also with Youmail the phone actually still rings. With iblacklist the calls do not even come through but if you want you can set up an icon to alert you when a call has been blocke
