This one came from (506) 229-78985 and a voicemail was left for some type of credit card scam.
Mad Still
Blocking numbers won't work genius that spent $8 or $9. The number you see is NOT their number. Sure you blocked a number. But you didn't stop these thieves from calling. I know for a fact you didn't. There is no way any of you will ever find these schmucks. It's a lose lose for AmericansAll you can do is protect the elders in your families. You will not stop getting them either.
Scam Call
(506) 229-40691Happened to me today from this number, prerecorded message about my final notice to lower my credit card rate. Another fraud number to avoid.
Very annoyed!
(506) 229-04886Called my cell phone about wanting to lower my interest rate. I am on the do not call list. I was driving at the time, so did not think to try and get some contact info from them.

These numbers are originating from San Jose, Costa Rica (or being routed through there). 506 is the country code. The following 2 is the landline prefix (since 2008), then comes the 7-digit local number. 11 digits in all. Check this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%2B506.
The scammers are obviously using foreign routing to hide their identity and bypass the do not call system. I don't know what you can do about it except don't answer calls starting with a 5. If you have AT&T you can use their Privacy Director which intercepts Unknown callers and gives you the option of answering or not. I had that for awhile and miss it very much since I switched to Charter. If you're using another company, complain to them about the problem and maybe they'll provide a similar service (yeah right).
