This is just the number for Ryerson University.. Nothing sinister.
Mary
I just received a call from this number stating 'I am calling from Ryerson, I have an invoice to pay you for your Samsung phone, but unless you give me information about you, starting with your complete name, I will not pay out this invoice'. I said, I do not work nor study at Ryerson, I do not have any associations with Ryerson, therefore, I am not releasing any personal details to you. I asked 'who are you and where do you work?', the answer was 'I am calling from Ryerson', but that did not answer my question, so I just ended the call. This is definitely a scam, they are using Ryerson's telephone for the wrong reasons. Be Careful.

This number has called our house on a daily basis for the past six months (weekends included). None of my children attend Ryerson University and I have launched a formal investigation into whoever is behind spoofing this number. If this person is harassing you, do what I have done and report them.

I told the caller my daughter has been move out no longer live here. Still keep on calling!
tostopthesecalls
My proven way to stop these calls......Answer, speak immediately so the computer will transfer to a live person. Then have fun with it, tell them you are so interested, but keep saying you are doing things, like answering doorbell, getting pen and paper, getting credit card. The more you can waste that live person's time (and wages) will get you off call lists faster than any "do not call" list. I do this, and they never call again, and I have rarely been getting new calls. Hit them where it hurts, the wallet. If a nice percentage of people did this, all telemarketing would probably stop...And please feel free to pass all of this along whenever you post comments on other numbers...BTW: the best I've been able to do is keep them on the line for 11 minutes, but with only coming back to the phone for 15 seconds at a time, three times. So my 45 seconds cost them 11 minutes of wages.
